Thanks that makes me feel better.

This whole delivery process from start to finish has been very stressful. I am definately buying future apple products from store.

My wife said exactly the same! If I'm paying over £2k for a computer to be delivered after nearly a month waiting, I want a delivery time given to the nearest minute!! Next time, shop for me too.

I forgot to post earlier, but my iMac arrived today around 3pm after nearly 6 weeks of waiting. Just finished reinstalling programs and copying data across and can safely say it was worth the wait.

Compared to my old 2008 24" 2.8 C2D the new iMac flies! I was slightly sceptical about the Fusion drive, but so far it seems to be as good as the Samsung 830 in my work PC.

Hope everyone gets their soon!

Same as you - arrived a couple of hours earlier, but am so pleased with it. Compared to my 17 inch MBP with core duo ( hence need to upgrade) the new one flies! And the fusion drive is such a treat - last night I had to go and look at it before I went to bed! :D

Ps am missing this forum already. In some ways it's a shame the wait is over!? Must be mad . .

Well my mac is finally out for delivery today. 3 weeks since initial order. Its a shame im at work today. My partner can babysit until i am home :)

My Mac has finally been disputed today - I ordered it on the 3rd January but it was a custom spec so expected a wait.

Expected delivery is 30th January at present

Finally got it! (specs in signature). I ordered it on the 3rd January, so glad it came today :)

Well ups are a joke. Just had a call to say they couldn't find the flat so have left and are now on the way out of the city. Unbelievable. Have complained to ups and apple, and apple assured me that it will be delivered today.

Yay ups have just been and delivered my order. My partner will keep watch till later. Now I have to sit at work when I just wanna go home and get it started. Least it will have time to warm up!

Received my mac on Wednesday, UPS were good to me, unfortunately I had to go up to London for job interview so haven't been able to play with it! Looks amazing, I noticed a little of bit light bleeding on a black screen but it is insanely bright! I feel like its as bright as my iPhone/MacBook pro/iPhone when it's turned up to 2/3! When it's full brightness the flash on my camera can't overpower it!

If they don't sort my job out soon, I'll be taking receipt of my imac and then using the box as a makeshift home while I beg for spare change - how does "spare a few quid for i7" sound?

Ill be doing similar. Maybe someone will run me a 4 way adapter ( with ups) out of their house. I knew I'd have to wait. But old iMac has since died and I've turned down tons of work cos of it :-(

My 27" arrived today, ordered on January 3rd.

It looks really great, apart from the scratch on the screen!

On the phone to Apple now. So disappointed.

does anyone know how long between card charging and shipping?

after the original authorisation dropped off, Apple charged my card again today.

does this mean shipping is imminent?

So finally I have set up my iMac that arrived today. Its gorgeous, its worth the wait guys. Keep holding on.

So ordered on the 4th jan
Preparing 18th Jan
Shipped 19th
Delivered 24th (exactly 3 weeks since ordered)

I think this maybe me signing off from this delivery thread.

how long should you leave it when you take it out the box?

At least 4-6 weeks.... :)

I would imagine until it feels a little warmer to the touch and given a chance for the air within it to balance with the air in the room....an hour or 2 maybe? Not sure, mines not here yet :(

My shipment status hasn't changed since yesterday, just says dispatched but no shipping agent as such.

Is there still a way to track it now or do I have to wait for that to be populated?

If its despatched use the number beginning 82.... On the expeditors website linked a few pages back. You will see the flight schedule etc.

Peparing after 34 days...

I placed my order 12/23 and after 34 endless days of waiting my order is now "Preparing for Shipment".

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5

32 GB Crucial are impatiently waiting like me.

EDIT: SHIPPED!

Looking at the spreadsheet plus reading the comments, it seems like many orders are preparing to ship.
Looking at orders from Europe, the average wait for orders in January seems to be 15-17 days (some variations though, unknown reason).
I have now waited 10 days, so in the next week my status should change. Fingers crossed...
