I contacted my reseller today. My order from Nov 30 isn't even shipped, and they have no estimate still.

Yeah I have been in regular contact, they chase up with Apple and still nothing. Not my resellers fault. BUt annoying when Apple are shipping the same configuration from orders 6 weeks later.

I would call them up man and request for a compensation for your trouble.
I had today one of thes bad days, i asked Apple if it was possible change something of my order which was scheduled for the 15th of Feb but withouth the need to cancel or anything, they said sure, and than bammmm, they canceled my order and did a new one which put me back to 4th of March :( I asked for compensation ofcourse. (why ooo why dont they comunicate things before executing).

Good luck man!

I cancelled my order placed 30th of November at a reseller, they couldn't even give me an estimated delivery date after 6 WEEKS OF WAITING. Placed a new order at applestore, and is looking forward to the 19th of February ;) good luck....

My turn :)
Ordered 9th Jan and this morning it's changed to "Preparing for shipment", hurray!

From my perspective I think the current iMac's availability problems stem not only from production issues, but also from a genuinely high demand. I'm upgrading from a 2009 iMac, and none of the interim releases interested me. However the fusion drive and sharp design make it a no-brainer.

My local Apple store (Kingston upon Thames in Surrey) always has a big crowd by the new iMacs, so they must be proving popular.

My spec (I cancelled my original order for the 675MX) is:

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
3TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5

I'll upgrade the RAM myself (honestly, how long before Apple start to use proprietary ram?) and this should last me for another 3.5 years or so.

My iMac is suppose to be delivered tomorrow but I've got no tracking info on Apples website and just this message

"Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date"

Uk orders shifting faster now. mine went to preparing last night ordered on 9th but delivery times for new orders remain unchanged. as they seem to be speeding up production, demand must be strong.

I'm very interested in seeing the first sales figures come out. People have been waiting a VERY long time for a new iMac to be released (I'm one of them)- As a result I expect sales will be very high.

Yay! Mines gone to Preparing for Shipment!!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Ordered 13/01/13
Preparing for Shipment 31/01/13

Spec in signature....

mine is too as of an hour ago, but the delivery estimate is 8th Feb?

seems a very long time compared to others?

According to the tracking info there is a 'package' of 96 pieces totalling 1344KG waiting for a flight from Shanghai to London. The flight hasn't been allocated yet.

The 8th Feb is probably worse-case - once they land in London (over the weekend I hope) they should get shipped out quite quickly, depending on customs.

where are you getting that tracking info?

Hi guys, so my 27" iMac should be delivered today according to the tracking on the Apple page, yet I haven't been given a tracking number or the delivery company's name. All it says is "in transit to customer estimated delivery date Feb 1st 2013" Is this normal and do you think it will deliver today??

Preparing to Ship

I ordered my iMac on the 15th of January, and on the 1st of February the status changed to "Preparing to Ship".

Configuration is as follows:
3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5
MAGIC TRACKPAD-Z
Apple WL Kybd+User's Guide-B
COUNTRY KIT-B

Cheers

Mine's had one day of 'preparing to ship' and has moved to 'shipped'. The UPS code actually works (which is a new experience for me!) and it's currently in Shanghai and stated for delivery on or before the 6th - which is exactly what Apple had stated when I ordered.

Now I just have to work out what happens if no-one is home - that'll mean waiting for an attempted delivery, then try to get it delivered to work..sigh.
UPS won't try to deliver to a neighbour I assume?

According to expeditors my iMac reached London last night 6 pm GMT but is still waiting to clear customs when I checked this morning. How long once cleared customs can UPS get them delivered?
Can any one tell me where you find the UPS number.

THAT was Quick, where do you live, if I may ask?

Just a head up guys, it seems that there are delays with delivery :( i've taken a day off university to wait in for my new iMac and was just sent this email:

Thank you for shopping at the Apple Store.

We are happy to advise you that your order is now in transit, however, we are experiencing a short delay.

We now expect to deliver your order on or before 05.02.2013.

Your business is very important to us and we regret any inconvenience this may cause.

Kind regards,
The Apple Store

I live in central London, UK. Not that it makes a huge difference, but I ordered shortly after midnight on the 15th (so basically the night of the 14th..).

Will keep everyone in the loop as it reaches the next steps.

Apple Stores in London do stock the 27" 3.4 i7, 680mx with 1TB fusion, but I never managed to catch them on a day when one was in stock.

Ok, I ordered the 19th, not that much later than your order, so perhaps I'll soon see some activity with my order, . Perhaps you'll receive yours before next weekend ;)

So happy to check my order today and see 'preparing for shipment ' appear , I have been obsessively checking it the last few days !

Ordered jan 10th
Preparing for shipment Feb 1st

:)
