Delivered!
However I had to get it delivered to work, so I can't look at it (stroke it) for about 6 hours. The pain!

Ordered on the 18-Jan-2013
Processing on the 01-Feb-2013
Shipped on the 05-Feb-2013
Estimated delivery 13-Feb-2013

3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
8GB 1600MHz DDR3 SDRAM-2X4GB
1TB Fusion Drive
NVIDIAGeFrc GTX 680MX 2G GDDR5

Any ideas on how to actually track it? I click the track shipment button but it hasn't changed since the 5th with no details on which courier has it or tracking number.

I bunged the 82xxxxxxx number into UPS's tracking site http://www.ups.com/tracking/tracking.html . Make sure you select 'track by reference' option. That should give you the details and the UPS tracking number ;)

Guess I am just unlucky then as I've tried to track by reference on UPS, TNT, Fedex and UKMail as my carrier is "Syncreon Technology". Will have to give Apple a ring tomorrow morning to find out where it is.

Phew, well finally got it out the box and installed on the desk. From front-on it looks identical to my late 2009 iMac, but if you move around the room (walking through etc) then the thin-ness really does make a difference. The new iMac doesn't appear to dominate the desk as much as the old one, so I'm happy with that.

All appears well with my unit with no obvious dead pixels, colour shifts or any dings/nicks/dents. That's great news!

What's not so great is the stupid 'Migration assistant'. I had previously created a fresh Time Machine backup and so connected this (via USB3 HD) to the new iMac, but it just sat there spinning the icon 'looking for the disk'. Useless.

Next up I had to lug the old iMac back, squeeze it on the desk and connect the two via Ethernet.
Three times it stalled transferring the files displaying '17 minutes to go'. I even left it overnight, but was still stuck on that.
Fourth go I selected the bare minimum of application files and user accounts and attempted to transfer that. That seemed to go well and I left it completing this morning with '2 mins to go' after taking an hour to progress through. Fingers crossed this will work.

Is migration assitant always this bad? What use is my Time Machine back up if that won't even 'see' it?

Ordered on the 29th of Jan. Estimating 3-4 weeks between the 1st & 8th of March.

I see that this last week shipping has gone up on the ordering site from my 3-4 weeks to 4-6 weeks (UK and Spanish apple.com stores). I am glad I ordered before that changed, hopefully I wont be affected by this change, my particular order still mentions 3-4 weeks.

My worry is that I would like more my work issued 15.4 MBP Retina display than my own 27in iMac. At 220ppi in the MBP retina compared with the 108ppi in the iMac it is bound to look a bit worse, I know that it makes a difference as you seat a bit further away but still.... Can anyone comment from their own experience???

Can´t wait for Feb to go by quick, good thing it is only a 28 day month!!!

BTO iMac 27" arrived this morning....

However I was not so lucky. I guess the graphics card has a few issues. Apple arranged an £80 refund and someone is coming round to collect the iMac tomorrow. ho hum.

Hope no one else has a similar issue.

Are UK shipments getting lower priority??

Ordered 27" on 18th Jan
Received shipment notification on 5th Feb but no delivery till date...
Shipped out of China on 7th-8th
Got stuck in Korea for 2 days...originally expected to reach LHR on 9th Feb evening, finally reached on 11th Feb.
Got custom cleared on 12th Feb 9AM and was expected to get delivered today. Now as per Apple they still not handed it to UPS and now they are saying it will not be delivered today....this is my worst experience so far...

I hope they do you right. Irks me that the septics are getting free stuff such as SuperDrives just for calling up.

It seems to go wrong after the completion of the web order on Apple's site and the subsequent rerouting to fill some forms on the credit provider's website. Because I did not here from Apple nor the credit provider for a week after the order and I had to return the signed documents before a certain date, I called Apple.:cool:Image

Is this a UK order? If so, I presume you mean Barclays? Depending on the order, they try and phone you to get you to scan/fax ID to them to prove your identity - my order was sucessful and I had an answer within 20 minutes of filling out the application form. I just had a phone call within about 2 minutes asking for a scan of my Passport/Driving License etc...

Ordered on the 22nd of Jan, status went to "Shipped" yesterday, currently ETA is 25th, but here's hoping that it'll arrive on or before the 22nd so that I can play with it over the weekend! Spread sheet has been updated.

I ordered mine on 26th January with expected delivery by 25th February but as its on a business lease there was a cockup and for whatever reason the order wasn't placed until a week later:mad: This caught the change in delivery times and pushed the delivery back to the end of march! Even more:mad::mad:

In the end I decided to leave the order in place and take a punt on the prospect that the occasional maxed out spec model that can turn up in store would!

And one has:):):)

Going to pick it up over the next couple of days and I will have it at least a week earlier than my original order! Yes I'm paying more for it but I was always struggling with the right spec and this way the decision has been taken out of my hands. I already have another 16gb of crucial memory waiting to install and cannot wait!

A very, very happy soon to be first time iMac owner:D

Andy.

Is this from the lakeside store by any chance ?

No it's not but I think most stores do get the high spec model with fusion drive in from time to time so it may be worth a call. I was also told Regent Street would be a good bet.

Hey Guys

I tracked my iMac via the link in this thread (http://www.expeditors.com) what a great link and very useful as the apple tracker has been the same since last Tuesday.

So I know its in the UK (london) probably to meet up with a superdrive, thunderbolt to firewire cable etc.

My delivery date says a week today but surely it will come before then? or will it?

I wish it'd worked for me, but for some reason nothing works anywhere - expeditors, UPS, FedEx, TNT, DHL. But at least the nice guy from Apple could give me some details.

Excellent! I picked mine up this afternoon from Southampton - I really cannot fault anyone of the business team down there, they have been first class in trying to help me.

Am I happy? What do you think!!!!!:)
