If anyone in the UK is looking for base model 27"s, I know that at least some Apple stores have them in stock. I'm just off to pick up my two now

30th Nov ordered BTO

Just got txt saying its shipped

Was down for the 21st dec ( failed ) then down for 2nd Jan ( failed )

Now got a shipping txt and its saying 9th Jan

Delivered this morning - happy days.

However a couple of worthy notes -

With my other half shopping in the sales it was very quiet in the house and neither my MBA or iMac are making any noise, so I turned the radio for some background noise.

Also the initial set up went smooth, however the migration assistant quoted some 9 hours and 18 minutes over Ethernet. So I rebooted and am now using TB cable, time is quoted as 26 minutes - happy days

I sincerely hope all those waiting are soon united with their purchases - Happy New year to all. :) :apple:

Ordered 30 Nov within hours. Shipping in 3-4 weeks, delivery 28-31 Dec. From Processing to Preparing on 24 Dec, shipped on 26 Dec. Delivery now scheduled by UPS for 2 Jan. Truth be told, they missed it by only one day as nothing gets delivered on 1 Jan. Had I not thrown in Applecare and a Thunderbolt cable that need to be merged before delivery, I am sure it would have been in my hands already. Despite plenty of later orders shipping earlier than mine, really nothing to complain about. Bring on that 27!

It will be with you this week. That is an estimate provided before UPS collect it. Your iMac will get delivered Thursday like me or Friday at the latest because it will spend New Years Day in transit.

Mine is still in Cologne just like the guy above and I agree it seems that because Apple are cheap with delivery that it will sit in Germany until Wednesday and get delivered Thursday.

I don't understand how it is more efficient to leave products in a warehouse for 3 days instead of just send them right to the UK to be delivered early. It's idiotic.

It's more efficient to fill up a cargo plane, or boat before sending it off. Therefor some items have to wait for their fellow cargo-passengers to hop on board, idiotic or not.

I'm not convinced that is what is happening.

I am sure based on many deliveries I have made through the same couriers - some express and some standard - that with the standard deliveries they physically hold them back.

We are talking UPS or FedEx here, not third party couriers like those tracked through Expo.

I have personally experienced FedEx deliver NEXT day from the US to the UK with express and then had to wait 5 days for standard.

That is not the case. As somebody who works in the industry has told me those with express delivery take priority when loading cargo into an aircraft. As the time approaches to seal the cargo hold prior to the aircraft departure and if there is still room in the hold then standard deliveries will be loaded to fill the space. It is not the case that anything is purposefully being held back. It is just a case of express taking priority over standard.

Mine was processing for 25 days and shipped on the 26th day.

Any many people have waited even longer.

Apple don't miss dates and as annoying as waiting is there is nothing you can do.

Spookily enough, mine has just gone from processing to preparing for shipment on the 26th day.

You just confirmed what I said... That non express is held back if space is an issue and clearly that is always an issue or express delivery wouldn't be popular!

I ordered some more RAM last night from crucial. I really don't need more than 8GB but 24GB just sounds badass.

This mac will be fast - it's only stock 27" but with a fusion drive and all that RAM... I'll be flying through all the non graphical and CPU intensive stuff I do everyday...

Mine is due on the 2nd and currently since 3 days in transint from Pudong.
How have the experiences been so far regarding the estimated delivery dates? Have they been accurate ? Would be too good to be true!

I would be interested in knowing that. Mine shipment has been stuck since 29th at Shanghai. :/

At what time did yours arrive at Pudong Airport? What does the TNT tracking say?

The last flight from Shanghai was actually this morning 02:30 Shanghai local time. Which means it was 12/30 19:30 in The Netherlands. The plane arrived in Liege/Luik at about 7:45 local time. I think your imac should have been on this flight? It could be in Europe already. Next stop is probably the Hub in Arnhem. The next flight is this thursday 07:30 shanghai local time (00:30 in The Netherlands.)

Lol i hope i am correct about this :D

They quoted dispatch in 3 to 4 weeks....and reach the end of that on Wednesday. Given that my order is still 'processing' I'd consider myself quite fortunate if they went from processing, to preparing for dispatch, to shipped in the next 72 hours.

They quoted delivery as the 4th to the 10th.
- From processing to delivery in Devon on the 4th (6 days) sounds very unlikely given others' experiences.
- From processing to delivery in Devon by the 10th (11 days) is still possible...but days continue to slip by.

Mine went from processing to being shipped within 8 hours.
