Thanks for the link! That pulled up the following for me:

Code:
Event Date Description Origin Destination Remarks
22-Jun-2012 14:00:00 GMT Requested Delivery Date
19-Jun-2012 21:01:00 GMT (est.) Est Arrival at Dest PUDONG, SHANGHAI, CHINA (PVG) LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR) PVG-LHR: VS251/19 PVG LHR

19-Jun-2012 11:40:00 SGT Confirmed on Board PUDONG, SHANGHAI, CHINA (PVG) LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR) PVG-LHR: VS251/19 FMVS T10K818.00 ACTUAL
19-Jun-2012 10:00:00 SGT (est.) Booked PUDONG, SHANGHAI, CHINA (PVG) LONDON, ENGLAND (LHR) PVG-LHR: VS251/19
18-Jun-2012 10:17:00 SGT Freight Received w/Docs
17-Jun-2012 09:56:00 SGT Client Called for Pickup

Looks like it was shipped straight from Shanghai to Heathrow.
Not clear about where it is though. It says "At Final Destination" at 17:42. But it also says "Est Arrival at Dest" at 21:01.

Very confusing...

The 21:01 line is their original estimate. Hence the "(est.)" tag. The actual delivery time was 17:42, i.e. it arrived at LHR yesterday evening.

What does the status (in red) at the top of the page say? Is it something like "Arrived, not Cleared for Import". That would mean it has arrived at Heathrow but hasn't yet passed customs. Or is it "Ready for Delivery"? That would be that it's on its way from LHR? Is yours merging in transit or is it a single item to be shipped straight to you?

I've just seen that exp.o has been updated since yesterday. Now it says : 20-Jun-2012 13:50:00 CEST Proof of Delivery Rcvd AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS (AMS) AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS (AMS) Proof Of Delivery.

I'm starting to think I'm not going to get it before this weekend. I'm so disappointed with the delivery schedule of Apple to Europe that I've wrote an e-mail to Tim Cook explaining my situation and telling him that we all miss him as Apple COO. It's been hard for Jeff Williams to keep up....

It may be worth for more to write a polite and short email to Tim, just so Apple would be aware of customers' frustration. Whether they want to do something about it is a different story though.

I already did this.
If a few more of us did then some notice might be taken. :)

Sorry, yes was going to post about it and then got distracted. Not much further on really. Because I have several items they are still on their way to merge. WHEN this happens I should get a tracking number. I did point out that this whole process is taking far too long and she promised to look into the consignment history and email me later, hopefully with some more information.
Incidentally if they do deliver on Friday it will be FUN as the Olympic torch is going through Lancaster and half the roads are closed.

Got a new apple status update:

Estimated Delivery Date (Subject to change) Jun 26, 2012
Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date

But still no tracking information or delivery service announced!

Come on apple!

Earlier today i also got another expo update:

20-Jun-2012 11:55:00 CEST Proof of Delivery Rcvd PRAGUE, CZECH REP. (PRG) PRAGUE, CZECH REP. (PRG) Proof Of Delivery

Very helpful post! Thanks!

The red status says: "Arrived, not Cleared for Import"

This was purchased from HE Store so it'll merge with the Gift Card.

The timeline also updated to say:
21-Jun-2012 16:00:00 GMT Estimated Time of Delivery

Its delivered but I am in the office :(... 9 Days from order to delivery and 3 hours from that last deadline that I was given... 4 days after those in North America started getting theres...

Glad to hear that yours has come.
Did you just have the MBA in your order or were there other items? Curious to see how much time merging items takes.

My estimated delivery date just changed to 21st (was 22nd), and the tracking page was updated with UPS info.

Woohoo!

Code:
Order Processed: Ready for UPS

Apple now says: Delivery scheduled by final carrier, see estimated delivery date
but still no tracking information!

Hi all,

Just had an interesting conversation with Apple. I called them to ask about the current status of my order since the delivery date has moved back with no tracking info. The Apple employee (who btw was very polite and tried to be as helpful as possible throughout the convo) said that their internal tracking system said the device was still in transit and not in the UK.

He also explained that once it gets into UK, it will be sent somewhere else to be merged with the iTunes Gift Card and then shipped to me.

Then it got interesting, as I told him I could see from the delivery reference number they provided, that it WAS in the UK and had arrived from Shanghai yesterday. He was genuinely perplexed! At first he thought I might be looking at the gift card as that was confirmed on his system to be in the UK. But since that isnt shipped from Shanghai, we could only conclude that it was the MBA. He asked that I send him a screenshot, which I've done. Now he's gonna have a chat with his seniors and he said he'll call back in about 30 mins.

I'll keep you call posted on how it goes. Will be interesting to see what he says when he calls back. I doubt this will speed up my delivery in any way but I'm hoping that the current estimated date (25th June) can be recalculated as it's already in London!

Sent my email off to Tim Cook:

Tim,

Very disappointed to see the slow delivery of online orders after the WWDC. Still waiting for my new MacBook Air 9 days after ordering, and the estimated delivery date is still 4 days away. Surely you can ship stuff around the world from Shanghai in less than 2 weeks? With UPS it should take no more than 3 days anywhere in the world, but you appear to have used normal airfreight (my tracking number was for Korean Airlines Cargo via Seoul!), and they kept it hanging around for 3 days before customs clearance. Not acceptable really.

Otherwise, keep up the good work! Looking forward to iOS 6.

Cheers

Mines the same. It was delivered to apple at 7pm yesterday, how fricken long does it take to put a card in the box and book ups.

I don't understand why it needed to be merged in the first place. I don't give two hoots when I get the card. The laptop is what I want

Will be interesting to hear what they say. Pretty much all my orders with Apple in the past have resulted in Apple updating their tracking info way later than if I manually tracked it. I don't think they understand some customers are aware of their ordering system (like using expo site).

Mine landed at Heathrow on Monday, cleared customs and was delivered for merging yesterday afternoon - Syncreon briefly appear on my Apple status page but has now gone, and I got the email saying the final courier would send a tracking code and date.

From that, I know it's sat with Syncreon, and will likely be for days. Gift card or not (this should be an emailed voucher code!), this is poor ops management when you're serving a premium priced product and supposedly pride yourself on service as a key augmented part to the core product.

I've ordered Apple stuff for years, many multi orders or BTO Macs and this is the poorest I can remember for a long while - 13 days (possibly more) from order to delivery is not industry-leading turnaround for a company like Apple. The product will have been in the UK for more than 50% of those days which tells its own story. I can buy things from eBay UK via second class postage and receive it in less time.

From other people's posts here, it seems China and US are well-managed Ops-wise, but EU orders are sluggish, especially once it gets to ground transport.

Well said.

I live in central London and the parcel landed in LHR. It has been in transit for the whole day.

No updates, no tracking, nothing.

My excitement of buying my first mac is now all gone. I'm only left with disappointment and frustration for such a poor show.

I've had exactly the same issue with the iPad.

Its a bit weird why it cant just be a code thats emailed to you, would save apple money and us about a week of delivery time.

Like you say tho, mailing the card separately would make more sense if they have to send you something physical.
