UK/Europe order/delivery thread MBA 2012

I just got my UPS Tracking number for the replacement MacBook Air (the first one they sent was damaged out the box).

This time, UPS are handing the shipping all the way from China. Estimated delivery is at Monday 2nd July.
I hope that it gets here sooner as the lady who arranged the replacement from Apple promised me I'd get it at the end of this week.

ETD: July 3 (to Denmark)

Still no specific shipment to me. Anybody know when I can expect a courier tracking number?

Mine went to preparing for shipment earlier today. I think I ordered a few hours before you so yours should change this evening I would imagine.

This makes it even more odd that yours has an earlier estimated delivery that mine for the exact same MBA.

Usually within 24 - 48 hours when your items have been merged and have been passed on to the courier.
 
according to UPS mine was last scanned yesterday departing shanghai at 11.30pm local time. So nearly 24 hours ago. Surely I should have arrived in Europe by now. I have tried some other tracking sites but they don't pick up the tracking number :confused: There wont be any merging as the rest of the order has already arrived.

I am far too impatient to wait until Monday.

Cool I'll try to resist checking every 5 mins..

Errr just checked it :rolleyes: and my delivery is estimated as 3rd - 5th same as you - I was obviously just being a 'tard when I read it last time! (Hope that sorts our your confusion)

Ha yes you have helped calm me down a bit! Im resisting as well because at the end of the days its going to take at least 7 more days from now, checking every 5m isn't going to change that!

However I will check now and again just to make sure somethings not wrong.Hopefully should switch tomorrow.

Order around 2.30pm (UK) time. Delivery to the UK. Same estimated delivery date as yours so it shouldn't be too far behind.

I did order from HE store with the gift card as well.

I don't feel too bad now.. I got my email confirmation at 1945 on the 25th so I suppose thats an extra day of processing time :) i'll allow it. Doesn't help my patience though! Mine is from HE store with gift card too.

Also HE Store, question about AppleCare.. Do we get something in the box detailing that we have it? or will it just be on record with our Apple ID?
 
Don't know i'm afraid, I was wondering the same thing but couldn't even find anything about us getting it on the store (though as alias and I have established I can't always read :) )

Strange, not sure how that one will work then..on the otherhand its free!

On average then are people getting their MBA's before/on/after the very first est delivery time that Apple gives them when they order? By the looks of it people seem to be getting them a day early, I could be wrong..
 
Ordered MBA 1.8i5/8gb/128, thunderbolt display, mac mini (base), from HE store.

Ordered on 17th
Delivered today 27th
Original estimate was 29th June.

When I bought my Late 2010 MBA from the HE store there was nothing included to state the warranty. But i did buy Apple care that time round because I was unaware of the 3 year deal.

I just had a quick browse on the site and can't find anything apart from when you go to the customisation screen after selecting a MBA, the apple care option at the bottom states:

'Every new Mac purchased from the Apple Store for Higher Education comes with complimentary telephone technical support for one year from your Mac purchase date and three years of repair coverage. With the AppleCare Protection Plan Uplift (AdditionalTelephone Technical Support), you can extend your telephone technical support to three years from the computer's purchase date. You can call Apple's award-winning experts as often as you like and get your questions answered.'

@garf I hope you ordered the right spec you wanted and didn't get i5/i7 4gb/8b mixed up!

No suggestion by anyone? I've really no info about the my air. This atlas tracking is really the worst! :(
 
Woohoo my order has finally gone to "Preparing for shipment" - must have changed some time over night.. fits with Alias's order time etc too.

So we get free hardware warranty for 3 years.. excellent.

@Alias - haha yeah I did thanks.. (checks) yep got that bit right! must have been the excitement that caused me to go all dyslexic.
 
Well I was wrong. I thought departure scan in Shanghai meant it was going on the plane on the 26th. However it actually left at 1am on the 28th :(

last log was in cologne in germany but UPS says "Exception" on the tracker, so i dont know what that means :confused:

EDIT: is has now been given clearance so is back on route.

Same here, finally! :D now to figure out how long until it changes to shipped..

It should be around 12h.

Expo tracking shows that after being shipped on the 27th, it will be on a place to frankfurt by the 29th and estimated delivery to merging centre is 2nd July so based on this I am expecting mine on Wednesday next week, right in the middle of the 3-5th delivery estimate.

Pretty shocking really that it takes this long from China to the UK. The apple gift card could have just been sent by 1st class mail with no signature required.

Also I can't believe there isn't an express shipping option for the UK for the MBA, in this day and age a 9 day isn't good enough. I have sent packages as far as Asia and arrived in around 3 days with a reasobale cost.

Anyway can't change it so must wait! :mad:
