Tomorrows the day and Macs the word.

Well a bit later in the day then expected but it seems my MBA is at Syncreon (Apples merging warehouse in Leicester)... SO...

Fingers crossed UPS will pick it up at some point tonight or in the morning and It'll be at my door tomorrow!

I'm thinking that it's cutting it a bit too fine now, duno I your in the same boat as me but mine needs merging before its passed on, for all of that to happen and it reaching me within about 12 hours seems a bit too much to ask for

Just checked apple tracking and it says preparing to handover to final carrier.

Also checking back through the thread i found this :

delivered to syncreon 8pm on the 19th
tracking numbers (UPS) arrived 4pm on the 20th
delivered 21st

So not looking good for delivery tomorrow. Initial prediction seems most likely!

:(
The only reason im feeling optimistic that I may get a delivery tomorrow is that Tamworth is 20 minutes from my house! :D

If not then at least I can 100% guarantee Wednesday!

Preparing handover to final carrier = UPS! ;)

Im not to far away either, only 1h from Syncreon but 1h20m from tamworth.

But frustrating that its gone past me already, now will go further away and then reach me all because of a stupid gift card that could have been sent separately/ added to my account / or code emailed to me. Not exactly green either which is something apple cares about!

AYMEN TO THAT!

Thats all that getting merged with mine too is a £70 AppStore card that could of been emailed to me!

Ahh I see... So is the Consignee the Apple merging centre then? I dont really know much about this part:(

Basically right now they are all sitting in the Apple merging centre near Leicester, they will now go through through the extremely difficult / time consuming task (sarcasm) of putting the the gift card and the air in a box and handing it to UPS.

UPS will then take it to Tamworth sorting facility ( I think ) where they will all be split and put on vans / trucks to deliver to a local depot and then to your door.

Expect tracking details sometime tomorrow and delivery on Wednesday.

After reading a few other forums on various Apple devotees awaiting their shipments I found somthing out that really wound me up... Even tho our MBA's are at Apples Merging warehouse waiting to be picked up, when UPS deliver your MBA, any merged items will actually be delivered separately (on the same day but not in the same box) all packaged individually, WTF is that all about!?!? Sort it out Apple!

I've read lots of confusion and moaning like this. Currently there is hundreds of thousands of MacBook Airs flying, sailing, on trains and being driven all around the world.

The complexities of such an operation would blow any of our minds. You ever tried to plan a trip round Europe? That's just one person trying to organise a trip across one continent!

The fact that Apple merge the MacBook and voucher, but they get delivered to your house at the same time but in different boxes is neither nor there. I can assure you it happens for a reason.

The fact that there isn't a thread 500 pages long saying, "my MacBook never arrived!" is amazing when you think about what your MacBooks been through this week :)

Ordered my new Air (BTO, 11 inch with 8GB ram) last Thursday. Got shipping confirmation yesterday (Monday) - still in China some 24 hours later. Carrier is UPS with expected delivery of this Thursday.

Yes it is complicated but thats why logistics has advanced so rapidly over the last 5 years. We are in 2012 not not the 90s, this sort of deliveries are part of everyday life and a driving force behind globalisation.

I think what the majority of people including myself and slim are frustrated about is the fact that there was no need to send the MBA to the merging centre so that we could receive our gift card at the same time, when it could have been delivered a few days earlier if it was direct.

The gift card could have been sent by unrecorded delivery (Apples theory behind merging is so that you only receive one delivery) and would just be slipped through your letter box, followed by the MBA via UPS direct. Or could have been emailed, or credited to your apple id.

Also people in America received theres a lot quicker. Finally there must be and extreme increase in volume going through the merging centre as a result of this. A high amount of orders going through there are just for a MBA and a gift card. Seems to be a lot of waste in terms additional staff, increased packaging etc and all this results in poor customer satisfaction.

There is no option for a faster delivery service either. I would quite happily pay £15-£20 for it to arrive sooner. USA customers has the option but the UK doesn't.

Fully agree with Alias - Why do yanks get them quicker from the same source? Why bother to merge the items? Why can't UK buyers do ship to store, or pay for express?

I'm sure all will be forgiven when it arrives, but it's driving me mental at the moment.

How do you know it's UPS, and when the expected delivery is?

I did a track order on apple store which told me UPS, and the shipment number.

Mine's now got as far as Germany, looks like it cleared China customs and has been flown to UPS hub there in past 12 hours.

So looks on track with Thursday delivery estimate I hope!

If this is of any use to anyone.

Macbook Air 13"/i5/8GB/128GB. Ordered: 26/07 afternoon from online store. Only item in order.

Tracking details in attachment.

Hoping to get some tracking details soon, as the hours tick by I feel the chances of getting it for tomorrow becoming slimmer. It's only a day I guess, but I am rather impatient/excited :)

I would expect this trend best on previous posts:

2 - 4pm status changes on apple site.
5 - 6pm Tracking details arrive
Delivery tomorrow
