i ordered an ipad mini retina 32gb + 3g at 09:00 yesterday online with a delivery of 26th nov ~ 03 december and cancelled it today after walking out of my local applestore with the same ipad under my arm. ;)

im still amazed that my local store was able to deliver before apple online..

get out there people.. they are in the wild!

Same here. Now I have no idea what to do re the Air I have. The rMini is looking good. And I can't really justify two iPads. I had a 4 and a Mini and was determined to downsize. Now I'm being tempted to be bad again. Sigh.

I haven't noticed any thing out of the ordinary.

Haven't noticed any dead pixels and the colours seem good!

I'm glad your one was perfect. I went to Watford today to pick mine checked it and there was a big yellow tint at the bottom half of the screen, apple guy saw it and went out back to get another one, same issue again but worse compared to their display models that were perfect! Had to walk out with a refund and no rMini!

In conclusion I've basically returned an Air and iPad Mini R in the span of a week due to yellow tinting in the bottom half of the screens!!

Dunno what to do now!

Picked my 32GB wifi up from the Chaplefield store as soon as they opened this morning. There wasn't a queue of Apple enthusiasts scratching at the door, so I'm sure they will still have some available.

Mine has a tiny scratch on the back casing that I really should try and get over, but other than that it's fantastic. So glad I waited for the mini. Slightly annoyed at myself for panicking and ordering one online as soon as they became available... Time to organise a return for when that arrives, methinks.

I ordered a 16gb one online that is "preparing for dispatch". Now think I want a 32gb so going to try and reserve on tomorrow and just return the 16.. Easily done I think?

could it not be an adhesive problem, and the instore ones have cured over a period of time

If it is that would be really good and I would happily go and buy again tomorrow however I did have my air for two weeks and yellow tint on the bottom left hand side didn't go.

Argos are starting to get stock in. Showing up 128GB models in store.

Had them in their site all day but out of stock everywhere I looked.

----------

In other threads, the US are starting to see more LTE versions, so will be checking like a hawk tomorrow :)

John Lewis said they were out of stock on the main page (I want the 128GB WiFi Space Grey) but when I clicked on it it said there were more than 10 in stock. Ordered one to be delivered to my local store & allegedly it will be there on Friday. Sounds too good to be true!

Sure you can't return an online-bought item to an actual store? Reading from other sources that you can, and to be honest I don't see why they wouldn't let you do that. Ahh, well I'm sure I'l love my new Mini anyway! Thanks guys, :)

No you can't. Its Apple's policy to keep retail and online orders separate regards returns at least here in the UK. I believe in the US certain items ordered online can be returned in store but not all of them. They haven't implemented that option here in the UK.

Its possible there may be the odd case where a retail manager has accepted a return or exchange of an online order but this is the exception rather then the rule and in most cases they won't.

Long shot but has anyone tried one of the Stormfront stores? There is one near me I might try tomorrow.

In the US I believe you can return any online purchase to a store, the exception being iPhone.

Currys now offering instore pick up, so ordered ipad mini retina 32gb white, and picking it up 5pm tomorrow workout out to be about £40 cheaper with quidco on top of currys cash back. Finally going to replace my first gen iPad 64gb with 3G, never really understood the concept of the iPad then and brought the best one just in case, now 5 generations later I use my iPad mostly for browsing, youtube and taking notes from papers and keynote presentations so didn't go for the higher end models.

They must have expanded it the. As I'm pretty sure when they initially introduced that policy it was only certain items. In any case its not an option here in the UK unless you get a retail manager who is willing to take it back for refund or exchange.

Thanks for the pointer. Reserved myself a 64GB wifi space grey for Friday pick-up too :) Much easier than Apple's reservation process and much quicker than the two to three weeks online order delay.

Yeah I was in the Apple store last week to try returning my iPad Air which was delivered scratched and was told because it was an online order they keep them separate and to phone Apple, Doing it over the phone was no hassle though they sent me a new iPad out then a courier came and picked the one which needed to be returned a day later.
