I ended up securing an in-store pick up for Friday afternoon today.

I cancelled my online order after. It hadn’t moved from ‘processing’ over the weekend, which led me to keep an eye on the Apple Store stock with a cheeky Siri Shortcut 😁

I'm curious about this, can you explain how you set up/configure such a shortcut please. :)

Edit: Think I’ve figured it out, sort of, but Siri won’t actually do the check when I use the phrase I set up. It wants to pretty much do anything else, which with me being Scottish, seems pretty normal!

(or Friday if Amazon actually delivers, which it's still showing it will?!,why have they not been cancelled yet?)
I wish they'd hurry up and make their mind up - my Amazon order is due to be delivered on Saturday and my Apple order Friday

Im not going to open the Apple order when it gets delivered on Friday until Amazon have cancelled the order for the 24th....Ill be annoyed if im sat looking at my delivered unopened Apple phone all day Friday to then get an email at 10pm Friday night saying the Amazon order is cancelled! 😂

open it on Friday, and use it.. apple will take it back no qualms inside 14 days

.....anybody know if when we transfer our data/apps from existing iPhone to the new iPhone 12, does the data also transfer shortcuts created on the existing phone ( i.e. I have a bunch of custom app icons which have been created using the shortcuts app on my iPhone XS, so that when they are clicked, the icon opens the shortcuts app which then opens the appropriate native app) ?

I really don't want to have to create all my shortcuts again if they are not transferred over....!!
They should transfer

...if you're talking about Barclays 0% finance - there definitely was no option for home delivery. How have you managed this??

Yes there was, I took that option as there’s no way I’m dragging myself to Bristol to collect a phone when they can deliver it to me for free.

I think its more hassle than its worth setting up and transferring everything onto the phone for the sake of one day and then having to do it (possibly) again the day after on the amazon phone haha

So what happens with an iCloud backup from somone running 14.2 Beta and trying to restore on a new phone on Friday? i assume that simply won't work as the 12's wil be on iOS 14.0.1 or 14.1, any way of knowing if a 14.2 beta will be available straight away for the 12's?

Thanks

Having spent 2 years on android I've not looked into shortcuts. I had better do some reading!
