I don’t know why you guys put yourself through the torture of an Apple Store lol. One positive of this pandemic is it’s meant quiet stores. Slow service and a system more difficult to book into than a GP lol.
I would avoid it if I could, but iUP can only be done in store.

...I would think they would move you to the front of a new line - why would they want you to queue with all the other 'chancers' who do not have time slots allocated?? Doesn't make sense if you ask me...!

The Meadowhall Apple store is in am awkward place so that's probably the reason.

I still won't believe my Amazon order went through until I have the phone in my hand!
Has anyone ordered through Carphone Warehouse this year, haven't seen many mentions of them?

I am hoping to pick up a pro max from them with their extra £50 trade in but trying to decide if the £50 is worth it versus ordering direct from Apple.
I ordered via Carphone Warehouse! But tempted to cancel it now and rely on that Amazon order coming through.. (could otherwise preorder from JL hopefully)

Yes I am in Wales and glad I am seeing the shambles in England at the moment.
Seriously? You’re glad about the misfortunes of those in England?

People from England can come on holiday to Wales though which is bizarre in the extreme lol.
That’s not quite right with respect. Only people in Tier 1 can visit from England for holidays.

“As of 6pm on Friday 16 October, people who live in areas of high coronavirus infection rates across the UK are not allowed to travel to Wales unless it is for work, education or other essential purpose (a reasonable excuse). The areas this applies to are: Tier 2 areas in England. Tier 3 areas in England.”

So with South Yorkshire moving to Tier 3 lockdown on Saturday, anyone got a collection booked from Meadowhall not living in the area, won't be able to go to collect it.

I'm Nottinghamsire based with Meadowhall being my closest store and collection booked for Friday evening so might just be ok...

It’s not against the law to go into a tier 3 area. Just not “recommended”.

Even the Apple Store at Stratford City had a 3 hour waiting queue to get in over the weekend sometimes
Because of Covid I can't see any way Apple would be allowed to have the queues build up as they usually do during a product launch.

No you read that wrong mate.

Nobody can leave their local areas from 6pm on Friday as we are in a full national firebreak lockdown. I doubt anybody regardless of tier from England will be allowed to travel in for 2 weeks.

Just making the point and keeping it on topic that travelling to an Apple store here to collect preorders will be illegal after Friday unless you live in Cardiff or other parts with official Apple stores.

....last word from me on C-19 as this isn't the right place.

Tier 1, 2 and 3, AND levels High, Very High and Extremely High - its no wonder why this country is confused.
🙄
My local gym had to close last week due to tier 3 restrictions from today they are allowed to be opened back up....what a mess no one has a clue on what is going...

Submitted my iPhone X 256gb to rebuy for £430 as 'very good' which was priced higher than 'like new', and now they are refusing the honour the price saying the back is noticeably marked 😂

how much are they offering now?

Well... I think a round of applause is needed for the great people of Newcastle and Gateshead. A couple of weeks ago we were in the same position as Liverpool and looking certain for a full lock down. It would seem all Geordies have collectively seen the real danger... that is, they may not be able to pick up their new phones and have collectively brought down the infection rates...

Flatten those curves lads and lasses, flatten those curves and have a canny iPhone release day 🤪 👍

I've used one of these cases for the last couple of years. Absolutely useless for drops but prevent scuffs. Also I have Apple Care.

Got the iPhone 12 Pro in silver ordered from Apple (£999, 9th Nov) and Amazon (£849, 24th Oct) If Amazon honour that then Apple have given me plenty of time to cancel their order. Fingers crossed

I would imagine someone at Amazon has lost their job over that pricing error. They must have lost thousands over that. Poor Jeff Bazos has probably lost about 15 seconds of his personal daily profit over this :p

My local store is always heaving. I went the other day to collect my watch. The store itself is empty but there is always about 4 massive queues outside for various things. The queues were worse than for the 11 launch!
