I have the £5 loyalty discount account on the £20 sim deal, would if I leave it a month they would also apply a Perks discount
Don't think you can apply both.

I went for the £20 100GB deal too (£16 with discount), then considered perhaps i'd like to do a lot more downloading / personal hotspot over 5G once life gets back to normal, so I upped it to the £23 200GB plan at £18.40 when you factor in discount.

I'm wondering whether paying £7 for the cellular connection to my watch it worth it.. I'm leaning towards no as I always have my phone on me.

Having not made my mind up about 12 vs 12 Pro earlier enough, delivery dates have receded into November on the Apple site so I am now waiting on John Lewis to open for orders tomorrow.

I've decided upon the 12Pro 128 entry level, was thinking of sim-free purchase as I have the cash but will need to get a 5G sim service anyway, so this EE deal looks good.

Pleas note the words “we are advising

This actually means that it is advice or guidance, not forbidden. It can only be legally enforceable if a Statutory Instrument makes it so.

EDIT: Sorry, I was catching up and didn’t realise that @Sheza had already pointed this out.

Also please note, I am not advocating that people go against Government advice, just clarifying the legal position.

You'd better tell Merseyside Police this then lol, as another poster pointed out they are scanning number plates in the area and issuing fines.....

If you always have your phone it’s just wasted money.
I pay £5 with O2 and leave my phone at home when out running 3-4 times a week and also when I go to the beach and want some headspace, so to me it’s well worth it.

you should be able to apply them at checkout, no?
For some reason half of the time they don't work. I chased up with chat and they immediately applied the discount:

Vikram:
Hi ct2k7

Vikram:
Welcome to EE, the UK’s biggest and fastest network. I’m Vikram on EE’s Digital Care team. How may I help you today?

ct2k7: Hi Vikram, when purchasing my SIM only contract, I forgot to add a 20% discount code. Is it too late to add it to the account?
Vikram:
I'll certainly check and confirm the details for your Sim contract. Let me pull the account and will help you with the best of my knowledge.

Vikram:
May I please confirm your full name and phone number?

ct2k7: Sure, ct2k7, CCCCCCC
Vikram:
Thank you for details

Vikram:
For security, could you confirm the last 4 digits ONLY of your 8 digit bank account number the Direct Debit is taken from please?

ct2k7: CCCCCC
Vikram:
And where and how did you buy your most recent EE mobile contract for this number?

ct2k7: gs.com
Vikram:
Excellent, that's perfect for security. Thanks for verifying the account.

ct2k7: thanks
Vikram:
Just to confirm, you wish to add discount with your Perk code?

ct2k7: yes
Vikram:
Please help me out with the code to check it further with plan

ct2k7: XXXXXX
ct2k7: I got it from perks.ee.com
Vikram:
Thank you for confirmation. I'm confirming the code details

Vikram:
I have checked and confirmed the code for your plan and will activate the discount now. It will effective with your next bill as this month bill is already generated with start of your contract.

ct2k7: that's perfect!
Vikram:
I'm really pleased we've got that sorted today. Thank you for your understanding and patience. You have been great all over the chat with me.

Vikram:
I'Can I help you with anything else before you go and enjoy the rest of your day?

I just realised that he said that I was great all over the chat with him. Now I read that back to myself it sounds dodgy.

It’s actually £135 now, used to be £90.

I’d be claiming your duty back unless it was a very expensive iPad case lol.

In fact the woman on HMRC chat states that its actually £15??

My work nature is that I may need to cover someone at short notice, or deal with an issue at a moment's notice with a 5 minute SLA, so I always have my phone with me.

She's not wrong. You pay VAT on £15 and above, but anything over £135 you pay VAT and Duty. You pay the handling charge on both. The fee covers people like me who are creating import declarations and clearing your goods to allow them to enter the country freely.
