I woke up to Alexa making the notification of delivery noise. I got excited and checked my emails to see if my phone had been dispatched, not sure why as I didn’t even order through them 
It would appear that they take little to no notice of social media complaints, they will reply with a standard 'sorry to hear that, DM us' but they know exactly what they're doing. After all, all of that pre order cash is sitting in their accounts now... maturing nicely most likely. But anyway.. it's frustrating to see it happen again.

Try backing up to your Mac and restoring that way, I've found it keeps passwords etc that iCloud restores won't.
It could be that the authenticator app ties to the imei/serial of the phone (like a banking app does) so needs to be setup per device.
I'm guessing this will be updated throughout the day for apple orders? Although if I dont receive one, it most likely means DPD wont be delivering mine? Last major apple item I ordered from them was airpods pro and DHL delivered that.
Is there any consensus whether the iPhone upgrade programme (20 months contract) or the “monthly payments” (24 months contract) is better if you intend to upgrade every year?

Maybe its delivery to the store and you'll be able to collect rather than giving you store stock? Whats the delivery address home?
It is a shame that Amazon do not do release day delivery. Well I may order from Apple and then Amazon as I feel it is gonna be much harder this year to get release day with Apple.

yup, that's my backup backup options. will back up to to Mac and use that as worst case.
when I was setting up the SE I had a different option for the restore (not one I've seen before anyway). when I went through the set up process (the one where you transfer from one phone to another by bringing it near) and chose restore from iCloud back up, I then had 2 options, 1) to restore from iCloud over wifi which said it takes 15 mins, or 2) to copy from phone which it said would take an hour.. tried that second option and it went from 1 hour estimate to 2 days to transfer!
It’s £150 less, they can deliver it next week for all I care 😂
I ordered from apple first and that was 9th Nov delivery so I’m really hoping these Amazon £849 ones come through I’m 90% they will but I’ve got that little doubt aswell and once it’s in my hands I will be cancelling the 9th Nov apple one
if you can be bothered (not that its any real stress) then sell your phone privately, pay off Barclays, get your apple care refund and then start IUP again.
though then you don't need IUP, you can get the 24 months at 0% now all done online so don't even have to go Ito store, which you would for IUP.
Still waiting for DPD or any tracking or despatch from Apple direct order.
