For those of use sending a trade in to Apple what’s the process?

- take SIM card out of old phone put in new one
- transfer across from old to new using the spinny dots picture thing
- unpair Apple Watch
- restore Apple Watch on new phone
- reset old phone (should automatically remove Apple ID and find my phone)
- put phone in box and take to post office

that’s it?

Yes but make sure you sign out of iCloud before you restore to factory settings. It doesn't actually sign you out of Find My if you just do a factory reset and will be activation locked.

Thanks, do you phone Barclays to pay it off? does it take long? I’m just thinking for £70 it seems daft not to, I think your right it wrong go off IUP, and just go on a gift card, but I will use the gift card next week anyway

google Barclays partner finance. Dead easy to do over the phone.
Then call Apple and cancel the Apple are and you’ll get another £90 back 👍

Okay so when i go into Apple orders page i can track both of my shipping and its DPD for both, however i didnt receive any email from DPD? Anyone on the same boat? I am meant to be receiving both 12 and 12 pro tomorrow. DPD tracking says its received my order and expecting my parcel shortly

Did you place order online. My first order was online on pre-order date. I rang next day to confirm if my order had been confirmed i was told nope. So i had to place new order via phone. Got Order confirmed email with order tracking link which is very temperamental.

Just manually add the order number and phone/email to their order status That should work.
I placed the order online originally and got my email confirmation but luckily I went messaged them the next day to inquire about keeping my current device with my upgrade. They then told me my upgrade wasn't confirmed and we went through that process which is when they told me the Silver isn't available at launch and asked if I wanted to change colour. Since then I've heard nothing apart from another online chat where I asked about my employer discount and they confirmed it was added to my new contract. No tracking link or any info in my account.

so slight aside here... anyone looking at the HomePod mini?

been going all out in home automation this year and my biggest gripe was lack of support with HomeKit.

ended up going down the nest route for the thermostat, doorbell and cameras. also have the LG WX series (not opened yet!) which has better integration with google.

needed a mesh wifi as the new place is fairly large so again went for nest wifi which the access points double up smart speaker. collected a few mini's over the year too kids rooms.

only problem is I'm in the apple eco system for music so can't easily integrate with the speakers for that. tempted by a couple of HomePod minis as well in their rooms... maybe a tad over kill :D

Just use Hoobs / Homebridge.

I have Nest and other non home kit accessories (including Ring) working sweet on Homekit this way

I genuinely think all these orders ship from the same location and the warehouse has a split of what vendor has actually sold the product. I cannot imagine Apple distributing these to all different places for them to then send them onto customers

Ok, so my iPad Air has shipped from Currys now for delivery tomorrow via DPD.
My iPhone 12 has shipped from Apple for delivery tomorrow via DPD.

The iPad Air will keep me occupied whilst I leave the iPhone all sealed up, in the hope that the iPhone 12 Pro from Amazon turns up on Saturday, in which case, the 12 will be returned to Apple.

Love this time of year.

Update for any Argos people, was just told by an Argos agent to expect Yodel tracking to start working around midnight. Will get a two hour window tomorrow morning via text/email.

What's the latest update on those that ordered at the cheaper Amazon prices? Think some paid something like £850 for a 256GB 12 Pro or something and they were waiting to see if Amazon honoured the prices.

The outcome of my chat to EE

i only ordered 1 and it ready to be dispatched tomorrow for Saturday delivery but apparently they will honour 1 unit per customer at the £849 price

I messaged EE about the 100GB 4G plan for £16 a month that I started last year, and they have doubled the data to 200GB for free and claim that I will now get 5G, but we will see tomorrow.

I do wonder who will be the first in this thread to reveal their new shiny lol

if mine was arriving tomorrow it wouldn't be me the excitement of it all .. this forum would be the last thing on my mind until abit later on when fully set up haha

Ah man, shot myself in the foot.

Upgraded to the EE Full Works SIM yesterday. Was going to choose BT Sport, Apple Music and AppleTV as my benefits but when the upgrade finally went through it showed BT Sport as a current 'Addon' allowing me to pick three more swappables.

I wanted the casting addon, but it wasn't available online and texting 150 didn't work. I called them up and managed to get it for £5 a month but the operator had to remove the Addon and re-add it as a smart benefit. Damn it.

Oh well, I got what I originally wanted at (what I think) is a very good price. BT Sport, Apple Music, Apple TV and unlimited 5G data for £38 a month.
