No I’m not wrong the science contradicts all the time, we just gotta live with this
I hear what your saying but it needs slowing down again ,both I and my wife are frontline nhs and our trust is besieged at the moment ,every ward is covid icu is busting at the seams

every body is being redeployed it’s worse than the first time ,although deaths aren’t as frequent it’s not ventilators we are short of it’s cpap machines ,hopefully this lockdown will help slow it down but sometimes I think let it rip through but it can’t happen
anyway the thought of a new iPhone and ps5 are great distractions from this misery ,and probably best to keep out of phone threads stay safe iPhone lovers

From the horse's mouth folks. It's true.

Thanks for all your efforts at this difficult time.

You can get it delivered.
Can't do it if he has to return the phone in-store as part of the IUP. I'm in the same predicament. And I honestly can't be bothered with the faff of selling the phone elsewhere and paying the remainder of the loan off.

EDIT: this doesn't also factor in the potential issue of limited supply of the 12 Pro Max at launch. By the time any Tier 4 restrictions are lifted at the end of November, there's no guarantee that subsequent supplies of the 12 Pro Max will even be available this side of Christmas.

For anyone part-way through their IUP contract and looking to upgrade, not only does this potentially impact being able to get the phone, but it also means that you can't move to the iPhone 13 next year at launch as you start a new credit agreement (and obliged IIRC to make 11 continuous payments) some months after the launch of the 12.

I am going to replicate the plan. It’s more work but financial should work out similarly (if not better).

1. Pre-approval for iPhone Payments Loan

2. Place order for (hopefully) launch day delivery

3. Trade in existing phone to whoever

4. Pay off iUP by calling Barclays (and cancel AppleCare+)

5. Whilst on phone to Barclays, rework the 20 monthly payments into 12 payments

6. In 12 months when the 13 rolls around, I’ll have paid off the 12 and can trade it in.

7. Hopefully by then the pandemic is over and I can start a new iUP in store

It’s number 1 what I’m trying to find out when will be live. Can’t get any answers from Apple. I’m sure you were allowed to secure finance fir the 12 and 12 pro before orders went live?

Already returning one iphone to EE for exchange. Screen stuttering and unresponsive. Screen protector off, Dfu restore and even on 14.2.

All the best to you and your wife, thank you for everything you’re doing x

Just looking back at pictures I took when I was setting up the new pacific blue iPhone 12 pro the other night. Both on same screen settings but the XS looks so much brighter. Haven’t noticed it since as not looking at the XS anymore but got me wondering if the displays improve over time?

It’s proven to do nothing it slows it for a tiny bit then back as soon as they open, millions have lost there jobs for what

Better than sitting back and doing nothing. Both aren’t good scenarios but I feel lockdown is better. Anyway, I’ll read your potential reply but won’t respond as it’s an iPhone section :)

I haven’t heard of that happening. As you say, the XS is significantly brighter. Keep an eye on it.

Have you tried turning off Auto Brightness? Its buried in the accessibility settings - display.

Both myself and a family member are NHS, I’m not frontline (IT) but a family member is and yes, I agree, there’s been such movement in our trust too.

Got my 12 pro today which was a nice surprise as it was due 9th Nov.

It’s an upgrade from a X but now that I’ve restored it from a backup and put a case on it, it’s a bit meh. Yes the camera is better but apart from that.....

Yes, will do. Not noticing it as much now because only looking at the 12 pro and it looks fine to my eyes on a daily use basis. Shame I’m working from home otherwise would’ve nipped out to check at an Apple store.

Ha. I was like that on the first day (coming from an XS) as couldn’t get used to the size but am getting used to it now.

I’m actually going to get a tripod for the iPhone 12 Pro Max (after lockdown). Does anyone have any suggestions for a tripod at around £100?

My first world dilemma is whether to keep the silicone case and my MagSafe charger order (total cost = £88) or whether to return them and stick with the Ringke onyx which cost me £7.99. Hmm...

I think that many of us have second thoughts from time to time. Might be subconscious buyer’s remorse.

The consolation is that you can always send it back if you still feel like this in 2 weeks time.
