Yep. I eat humble pie because i had my doubts about those sites but just completed a transaction with them.
Sold my 11 Pro Max 256gb to them and they offered ÂŁ677.
I can't comment on how long the price is held for but I expect it it will drop on Friday.
Monday - Sold my phone on their website for ÂŁ677
Tuesday afternoon - DPD picked my my phone, put it in a box in front of me and photographed the pickup.
Wednesday Morning - Rebuy acknowledged that they had received my phone and were sending it to the quality control dept to check that it was as I described it. 6 hours later the full agreed price was honoured and the money was immediately in my account.
Amazing service

For IUP in the past you had to reserve your device on pre order day, then go in store on launch day to complete the finance part. For those who currently have a handset on IUP you would hand over your current device to Apple for a quick inspection then apply for the new finance then walk out with your new device. No idea how it’s going to work this year but last 2 years had been the method stated above.

Fantastic!!! Thanks!! All ordered!! .. will wait for it to arrive before cancelling my November 24th order with Apple!! .. thank you SO much! ... I loved the 6S when it came out but this is driving me nuts! .. has to be plugged into a charger the whole time as the battery is shot to pieces too!

Exactly the same for me and same amount too .. I was extremely impressed they paid me full whack!

How can he have it delivered? IUP needs to be done in store.

I know some of the others on here managed pretty well with rather late orders from AO so when I saw your post it was one of the first places I looked.

In the US IUP works just like the trade-in program. They mail you the new phone and you send them the old one. I don’t know why in so many years that IUP has been available in the UK they never considered doing that here as well. There’s no real NEED for them to do that in store. Similar to how they do AppleCare repairs, they put the full value on hold on your card, they send you the replacement unit and then you mail your old one back and they remove the hold.
I don’t know if this “need” to have it done in store is imposed by Apple or Barclays, but I find it absurd and inflexible

I’m confused. So you are in the US? You said you hubby was having it delivered by 21st November on the IUP.
 
Been told by my work got no choice but to work from home from tomorrow. So least means peace and quiet while pre ordering and i will be in when the phone hopefully arrives on the 13th.

It’ll be a Barclay’s thing. Less chance of fraud if done in person and British banks are well and truly behind the times. It’s only now they are getting their asses kicked by starling and monzo that they are trying to do something about it.

As others have said it will be a Barclays issue and probably the way the 3rd Party who handle the Apple Trade In work. Apple do not manage the trade in program. The 3rd party are like rebuy and music magpie they just have a contract with Apple.
 
Hmm Rebuy are offering me ÂŁ540 (last week it was ÂŁ570) for my 11 Pro Max 64GB

Balance remaining on my Barclays IUP (as of 19/10/2020) is ÂŁ511.

Can I really be bothered to go through the effort for ÂŁ30?!

Choices choices, lol.
 
Can someone advise how it works getting a refund on AC+ when settling IUP plan early? Is there like an extra refund you get? If so, what is the process please? Thanks

Call Apple to cancel AppleCare, they refund Barclays, then call Barclays and pay off the reduced balace.

Would Apple not require the IUP to be paid up and settled first? Not sure if they would refund the AC+ upfront?

Also, do I need to let Apple know that I wish to settle the IUP plan early, or do I just call Barclays and settle the account?

When you cancel AC you leave the IUP. You then just have a reduced loan with Barclays. If you call Barclays first you’ll find that Apple will only refund Barclays so then you have to wait for Barclays to send the AC refund back to you.
