Hi guys, so I ordered the iPhone 12 PM on Friday through Apple but due to connection problems my delivery date slipped from the 13th to the 18th which is a nightmare for me as nobody will be home on the 18th but I'm off on the 13th so that would have been perfect but anyways I saw Amazon have some more in stock with delivery on the 14th which will be better since my partner will be home. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experience with pre ordering with Amazon, how likely are they to push the date to a later time or are they generally reliable with dates? I'd just kick myself if I cancelled my Apple order for the 18th only then for Amazon to push the date back.
Judging from those that ordered the bargin 12 Pros last time round, I think amazon pulled through and delivered on the expected date which was either the Saturday or Monday depending on delivery method chosen

Just got the California Poppy case for 12PM from Amazon. This baby is a beast, especially coming from 11P 5.8” 😱 Always had Plus sized iPhones until 11P, and I prefer the smaller size, but I always go for the best camera, so...
However, I admit looking at the size of this case I feel quite excited of having again such a huge screen for content consumption 😍

The feel of this case is soft and luxurious, the colour is gorgeous, just hope it doesn’t age as badly as the only previous leather case I had from Apple (red for iPhone 6 Plus), which turned black after a few weeks and I stopped using. I’ve also ordered the Baltic Blue case, and it’s this forum to blame as I’ve never bought more than 1 case for my iPhone (except for the 6Plus) 🙈

Also got email from Barclays confirming the finance, never bothered replying to the text...

Although I have one coming from Apple on Friday I am waiting to bag one from Amazon then I can pay over 5 months. I don’t need 512mb though so will not pay an extra £300 for something not needed

Wonder where this stock has come from - cancellations maybe....

Just that they couldn’t verify my identity, which is strange because I just recently finished the upgrade program with them.

This is the email I got:

Thanks, I will try that. What time will they go live?

My recollection is that John Lewis don’t go live until launch day, not sure when.

Maybe someone on here who got their 12 / 12 Pro from them a couple of weeks ago can help with the specifics.

John Lewis go live at 8:00am on launch day. They never do pre-orders. You've got to be quick to place your order - already be logged into your JL account with payment set up so your good to go.

I bought a 12 Pro for my other half from Apple but tracked John Lewis online this year just out of interest. If I recall by around between 8:03am and 8:06am they had sold out of all 12 Pro colours in all sizes.

To add that if you do order from John Lewis you can either choose delivery or next day click and collect from a Waitrose or John Lewis. That helps.

In my opinion John Lewis are best way to buy on launch day apart from Apple as their customer services rock plus you get a 2 year guarantee on the iPhone. I personally would never buy from Currys, Very, AO etc as I find John Lewis a step up with quality of customer services and easy return / replacement if anything goes wrong.

For pre-orders, best to go with Apple or Amazon - who currently have stock in as others have said.

Yeah I agree. However, I did some more research and Mercedes increased the size of their charging mats in 2019 to accommodate plus sized phones. I also jumped on a couple of Mercedes forums and on one of the US sites a guy told me that he has an new E53 which has the same interior the E-Class cabriolet that i have on order and he said that his 11 Pro max with a case fits beautifully on to the charging mat in the E53 so I can breath again lol
That makes a change.
Car makers used to be notoriously behind the curve when it came to integrating mobile phone technology. My 2005 330D has a kit for a Motorola V50 of all things, a phone released 5 years before the car was made!

I’m hoping to upgrade it early next year with a MagSafe charger and CarPlay though as I’m hoping to have the opportunity to actually use it again next summer 😂

I keep getting told to call or text 150 to enquire about upgrade(to 12 Pro Max) , what options did people pick?

I am with EE but I find better deals by going sim only as I upgrade my phone every year. I do find their upgrade options are more expensive and they lock you in for a 24 months contract. Also the iPhone is locked to EE for the first 18 months.

Two updates this morning:

California Poppy case is due within the hour and my AppleCare+ has confirmed a build date of W43.

In other news - has anyone ever pre ordered from Stormfront?

Was 8 AM on launch day! And if you use the app to save anything you want into your wish list; and add any cases or other bits to the basket, you can complete the payment within a minute. That's how I got my 256GB Silver Pro, which was possibly the configuration in the shortest supply.

I just upgraded my sim only plan on EE.

I got a good deal but not as good as some people on here who managed to get further % discount on the same plan. The guy at EE said he couldn’t do it but did offer to reduce my second line by £1 and increase the data on it.

With EE you can request after 6 months for them to unlock it for £8 I think. From December 2021 this will be a thing of the past as networks won’t be allowed to lock phones anymore.

Just got an email from Apple, my loan application was cancelled. Cancelled my iPhone 12 Pro Max order too. What an absolute joke this year has been for the new iPhones. Barclays is useless, what a terrible bank, don’t recommend them at all!

Makes no sense since I was pre-approved for the loan earlier this week and it was looking like everything would go smoothly. How wrong I was. Wish I had’ve just bought it upfront or from Amazon now.

Guess nowhere on planet earth will have any left for launch now?
John Lewis 8am Friday for next day delivery

My Work scheme uses stormfront as its supplier and it Has been fine the couple times I’ve used it although never for a pre order. I was going to use it for my 12 PM but they aren’t guaranteeing delivery before Xmas 😬

Anyone ordered through EE given a date for delivery?
I was assured by the Customer service I'm getting mine on on Friday, tracking still shows:
Expected Delivery: Yet to be confirmed!

Probably won't get a date confirmed until Tuesday or Wednesday. it was the same with the iPad Pro upgrade I did earlier this year for launch day

I got 3x sharer sims piggy backing off of my main sim, they only cost me £9 each. So I really only have to focus on getting the best deal on my sim.

£8 of unnecessary cost and inconvenience caused. But if networks are not allowed to sell locked phones later, good news for all.

When do they actually do the credit check? As that's all the elegibilty that they need surely? They should deny at the pre approval stage if they are going to decline.
Not at all. It’s like any loan.

You get checked for eligibility but it’s not until you purchase the product that the full application goes through and you are accepted/declined.

If you apply for a bank loan that is advertised at 3% APR and it comes back you’re eligible, it sounds great. But it’s not until you purchase the product that they run the full credit check and then you’ll either get the product as advertised, get the product but at a higher interest rate (depending on circumstances) or be declined.

Very basic and standard across the board with any form of loan.

In this case, it’s not Apple or Barclays fault; the applicant will have something wrong with his/her details on the application or not have a good enough credit history. The fact they had a loan with Barclays/Apple beforehand doesnt come into it as it’s a fresh application
