I’m confused. Is there any difference between iPhone upgrade programme and iPhone monthly payments + apple care? I upgrade my phone each year but can’t figure out if one is more cost effective than the other.

anyone have any advice?

Anyone else read all 2584 posts on here?!

Going to be mental tomorrow come 1pm and then the “are you still showing processing?” Questions will kick off.

Then next week the reviews will drop, then order statuses starting to change then the relief of “order status: dispatched”

Then the drama of tracking couriers!

Actually yes, I HAVE read EVERY SINGLE POST IN THIS ENTIRE THREAD!!!!!
😎

I was put off by the bad reviews on Trust Pilot, but hopefully it goes well!

There’s literally less than FIVE reviews in there - there’s actually only ONE! You can’t base your assumptions on one single review….!!?

It's not that I don't think its legit, it definitely is

its just do I risk my £630 MM offer for a £601 Argos offer for the sake of not having to user a burner phone for 4/5 days, and then for them to then say we're only giving you £500 as they found some dust 🤣

And then at this point my MM offer will have expired

I think ill play safe and stick with MM, hopefully we get plenty of feedback on here from those who use Argos though for next year!

There more chance with Argos I think. My price (£519) is locked in for 14 days by which time I will have already received my new phone so no need for a ‘burner’. When the new one arrives, send the old one to Argos. There is also an option to extend the initial 14 days for an extra 7 days when you log into your Argos account so plenty of time.

Best thing is it’s Friday it’s pre order day and I’m also off work for the entire following week so I’ll be able to wait in for this order fingers crossed for once 🥳🤩

They are an insurance company for Barclays. There’s loads of reviews, just put me off.

Im the same, I know full well I don't need a MagSafe, it does nothing different to what my normal wireless charger does other than stick to the phone

...but then again, it is £8 off RRP  👀
What power adaptor comes with the iPhone 11 Pro? Is it 18w or 20w?
should have prob looked at that before, but I guess it will just be slower charging overnight 🤷🏻‍♂️

There are all 0% so no difference financially between any of them.

IUP was there for ‘ease of use’ - get a phone and AppleCare, pay a deposit up front, make 20 payments and after 11 of them (about a year) you can hand the phone back to apple and start all over again on a new device.

The problem with IUP was handing the phone back wasn’t the best option. It was better to sell the phone yourself and pay if the balance. Typically saving £100 over just handing it apple. Also had to be done in store

IPP - is just a straight 24 month loan at O%, can’t remember if that required a deposit ( don’t think it did) and you didn’t need to take apple care.

They seemed to have ditched (well hidden and not promoting) either as much now.

What they do give is the 24 month 0% and say “hey, if you want to upgrade next year then you can trade your phone in with us and we’ll use it to pay of any remaining loan and if there is any monies left over, take it off the cost of your new one”. This is basically what anyone could do and did do themselves with IUP or IPP. Apple won’t give the best in market for trade in value, so again people should do it else where.

For me:

IUP: deposit up front. larger monthly payments ( loan over 20 months rather than 24) but buy doing so, in a year, your remaining balance is lower. And a bit of a rip off just handing the phone back to Apple. Doing it in site only was a faff

The IPP/ 24 month 0% means lower monthly payments as it’s spread out longer but after 1 year you have a larger remaining balance. If selling the phone after 1 year it might not cover the remaining balance so you may have to top up. You have a choice of taking out AC+. Biggest win, as of least year, was being able to do it all on line in advance. No need to go anywhere near a store now.

Sorry that was long

….OH??!

Im not seeing any AC+ details in that app then - all it shows is the Limited Warranty stuff.

Perhaps I never actually took out AC+ with my iPhone 12 then!!!!!

You never cease to amaze me Dino!

It’s quite clear on the support app if you have AC+

This is what I see

The £12 p/m deal is for 100GB not Unlimited. If you search Uswitch for sim only deals and only filter by the 3 network you should see it there 👍

These cellular plan deals are outrageously good compared to Canadian carriers. 12 Euro = $18 Canadian. I pay $50/month for 20GB and unlimited throttled after that and thats a corporate plan. Most consumers in Canada pay over $100 CDN/Month for a similar plan!

Whenever we travel to Europe (Italy, Spain, etc), we are amazed by the SIM only prices we can get with a non-european passport.

Is there a real benefit of MagSafe over standard wireless charging? Is my Anker wireless charger still going to work on the 13. Also, I’d need a USB-c plug, so try saving is diminished.
I was all in on getting the MagSafe charger for my new 13 Pro Max but then I watched a video on YT earlier today (
). The image below (a still from the video) shows the charge rate compared to generic 7.5w wireless charging, standard wired charging, and fast 20w wired charging - MagSafe is yellow. It just kind of made me realise - when I would actually use it, over the 20w fast chargers every time?

I may still pick up a MagSafe charger at some point, though! But I'm diverting funds towards MagSafe accessories for now

I only use mine for overnight charging, just find it easy to connect when I’m half asleep and it’s always 100% in the morning.
