Advise please, I’d like to preorder the iPhone 13, and the delivery date window is when I’ll be on holidays (same country, Ireland, but a remote part), I’m considering getting it delivered to the holiday home, delivery dates fall in the period I’m there? Is this just asking for trouble? Ie. Can these things arrive earlier or later? Thanks for any advice
Yes, you are asking for trouble. Apple tend to over estimate deliver times, I could arrive 1/2 weeks earlier than estimated.

Update on my MM sale

Posted Tuesday using their returns. Arrived today. Note that they mention because it‘s the weekend it will be paid next week. Unsure whether I’ll get an update today/tomorrow that it’s been inspected and get confirmation of the amount they’ll pay.

Will keep you posted

Good stuff, I’d like to think that now you have that email you’ve managed to get into your delivery date window of 21 days even though you haven’t been paid yet, as the email does say ‘we’ll pay you Monday as delivered over a weekend’ (even though they haven’t said how much yet)

would be bad of them to then turn around and say ‘we know we said we would pay you Monday but we couldn’t be bothered to inspect it in time and now it’s over 21 days!’

It will be Monday. I posted mine two Wednesdays ago - Arrived on Friday after 5pm - received an email saying it’s still enroute to their actual processing warehouse - Sat I think I received an email saying it had arrived and need to wait till Monday - Monday morning received another email saying it had been processed and money could take up to 24/48 hrs to hit my account - Monday midday money hits my account

Collection orders, do you see a pending transaction?

Also those comparing Apple Vs EE. I find EE give or take the same price, if you want to upgrade every year. If you are not upgrading every year, outright is cheaper.

I've got a collection booked at Regent Street Apple Store on 24-Sep release day and I can see the charge as a pending transaction on my Amex card. The pending transaction was posted yesterday (17th Sep).

Has anyone bought a MagSafe charger or the MagSafe wallet? Are they any good? I've been avoiding them up until now

i bought the MagSafe charger off Amazon early this year. Magnet is very strong and holds in place. Was also surprised to learn that it also charges my XS max without the magnet function though.

My only gripe is the length of the cable it’s quite short and can’t be replaced as it’s built into the unit. I also get that annoying feeling of current going through my hand if I touch the magnet whilst holding the phone whilst being charged.

I see many some members are selling there iPhone Pro Max via Music Magpie but the rates they are offering are, understandably, very low:

Pro Max 128GB
Unlocked = £530
Locked = £442

Pro Max 256GB
Unlocked = £561
Locked = £475.10

Pro Max 128GB
Unlocked = £600
Locked = £504.60

Currently you can boost the above prices with a 10% coupon to a maximum of £30. Even so, the slight hassle of ebay sale makes it much better - you can achieve an average of £750 for a 128GB Pro Max 12 and this weekend no final value fees to pay.

What rates were they offering in the last 21 days as that's the duration a valuation is valid for?

Anyone looking at or purchased / owned the Peel brand phone cases before? Looking at the clear soft one looks pretty neat as it’s mega thin
I've owned a couple of the Peel and competing Totallee ultra thin cases - both soft and hard versions over the years.

Things to note:

  1. The soft clear is thinner than the soft clear cases you can get from Amazon for less than a tenner
  2. The soft clear cases will still yellow over time
  3. The soft clear cases do offer decent protection whilst still being thin
  4. The hard clear cases are very thin and sleek - they actually looks invisible
  5. The hard clear cases do not yellow and remain looking decent if you're not rough with them
  6. The hard clear cases can be damaged when fitting due to how thin they are - follow their instructions!
  7. The hard clear cases can only be relied on for scratch protection - drops will defo damage the case and almost certainly the phone inside (mine 12 Pro Max fell on a tiled floor...)
All the above being said, I've gone for another Peel hard thin case for my upcoming 13 Pro Max. The phone is so big anyway, I don't want to add any extra bulk to it if avoidable. I have ordered an Apple leather case to try out, but I'm reasonably confident it will just make the phone feel even more like a surfboard!

Does anyone know if you have reserved a certain phone to collect in store if you can change it to another model when you collect? (depending on stock availability in store at time of collection).

I have the wallet - I like it for going places where I know will only need card but it only does hold 3 cards.

Gone for a blue phone with clear case so not sure what wallet if any will look right on it!

I still can't believe the dropped the price by £70.

I sold my 12 for £550 so this year's upgrade is costing me £229.

Apple care is cheaper too and I managed to get 50% discount on my sky sim making it £3 for 6gb so this is my chespest upgrade year in a long time.

I paid Amex , but no charge yet , as I said earlier I rang and they said I wouldn’t get charged until a couple of days before collection. I duu I do the pre pre order and had to confirm with Amex via the text.

I have the Anker PowerCore Magnetic 5K portable charger.

And the Belkin 3 in 1 Wireless Charger with Magsafe 15W.

I'm happy with both.

For the vast majority of people in this thread Music Magpie have been fair and paid the price they said they would - its difficult to know those reviewer's situation i.e was the phone damaged, did they post it too late etc.
This

People are quick to post bad reviews but never good ones, which is why sites like trust pilot are pretty useless, and like ive said on this thread, the kind of people who post on there are they kind of people who would complain to the council to fix potholes in the road, and then complain to the council that they've closed a road while they fix potholes in the road.. :rolleyes:

Most people if not all in this thread have had their full amount paid out, you can pretty much guarantee that all the phones people have posted off from this thread are also in pretty mint condition so I wouldn't worry about it

MM were offering £740 (including discount) for the 12PM up till the day of the announcement. The following morning prices started to drop. I locked in at £740 and sent it off the next day. It really helps if you have a backup phone to use in the interim. Next year I will likely sale the 13PM even earlier if it means I can lock in at a higher resale value.

it depends when you lock in, they key is as late as possible before they send invites out for the keynote

I have £630 for a 12 Pro 128gb unlocked which after only buying for £849 (thanks Amazon!) is a great price

but I have to purchase from them now as I have £1100 of 7% off work vouchers and then a possible 10% complete savings but only on delivery anyway see what happens Friday morning
