Guys preordered the iPhone 13 Pro Max and new iPad mini. When do Apple take the money, Barclays can’t see any transaction and my balance hasn’t changed.

i bought the MagSafe charger off Amazon early this year. Magnet is very strong and holds in place. Was also surprised to learn that it also charges my XS max without the magnet function though.

My only gripe is the length of the cable it’s quite short and can’t be replaced as it’s built into the unit. I also get that annoying feeling of current going through my hand if I touch the magnet whilst holding the phone whilst being charged.

I bought the official MagSafe charger by Apple when it came out but returned it right away as the cable to way too short for my needs and you can't even replace it with a longer one. It is possible to extended it using a second cable and a male to female USB C adapter but that's just clunky and doesn't look good. I ended up getting the Anker I posted for portable use and the Belkin 3 in 1 for home use.

Yeah same, HSBC but yeah I think Monday cause weekend and banking scenario dont worry about it.

I've owned a couple of the Peel and competing Totallee ultra thin cases - both soft and hard versions over the years.

Things to note:

1. The soft clear is thinner than the soft clear cases you can get from Amazon for less than a tenner
2. The soft clear cases will still yellow over time
3. The soft clear cases do offer decent protection whilst still being thin
4. The hard clear cases are very thin and sleek - they actually looks invisible
5. The hard clear cases do not yellow and remain looking decent if you're not rough with them
6. The hard clear cases can be damaged when fitting due to how thin they are - follow their instructions!
7. The hard clear cases can only be relied on for scratch protection - drops will defo damage the case and almost certainly the phone inside (mine 12 Pro Max fell on a tiled floor...)

All the above being said, I've gone for another Peel hard thin case for my upcoming 13 Pro Max. The phone is so big anyway, I don't want to add any extra bulk to it if avoidable. I have ordered an Apple leather case to try out, but I'm reasonably confident it will just make the phone feel even more like a surfboard!

Is there anywhere in the UK who sells Peel cases?

I’ve just looked at my ‘Midnight’ leather case in the bright sunshine outside and it REALLY is ACTUALLY black in colour!!!!

I‘m gonna get one of them navy Mujjo cases before long - I really do like the navy leather look….!

For Peel cases, no. I've not been able to find a UK/Europe distributor so have had to buy from them direct in the US.

Totallee cases can be had from Amazon and from what I can tell, they're indistinguishable from the Peel cases.

MM were offering £740 (including discount) for the 12PM up till the day of the announcement. The following morning prices started to drop. I locked in at £740 and sent it off the next day. It really helps if you have a backup phone to use in the interim. Next year I will likely sale the 13PM even earlier if it means I can lock in at a higher resale value.

Will certainly bear this in mind for next year.

Sold my 12 Pro Max 128GB for £750 last weekend but offered free postage so £740 total. Intentionally sold pre-event as knew there would be a glut of phones for sale straight afterwards and luckily no final value fees but you always have the worry that your buyer is going to be some scammer. Happy to sell slightly earlier than the event to get better price, like I did this year, but will certainly consider going the MM route next time as have a spare I can use it in the interim.

Mine didn’t back up to iCloud lol caused me some problems but I’ll sort it once my new phone is here 🙃

I the blue Authenticator app, there is a toggle switch for ‘Back up to iCloud’ (in the settings area top left), you’ll need to make sure that’s turned on.

Just catching up on posts - see a lot of people have been charged and moved to "preparing for shipment" etc. Still no charge here (Monzo via Apple Pay) and still "processing". Although the order (1TB, Pro Max, Blue) is now showing again on the "For You" page.

What screen protectors are you all getting? I ordered and received the: "Spigen EZ Fit Tempered Glass" from Amazon, I've seen a few posts recommending the: "ESR Armorite" but I'm not a big fan of the black bits - I don't use a case and find dust etc. gets trapped under the black bits. What's so "Ultra" about Belkin's Ultraglass?

It actually doesn’t matter about that narrow black outline on the ESR Amorite protector - the phone screen has a black border around the perimeter anyway so you won’t be able to see the black border of the screen.

I know this is massively OT but it's a UK forum so I'll ask .... has anyone used their Childs education discount to purchase themselves something from Apple? I'm looking at getting an iPad mini and using my Son's edu discount, but I'm divorced and he lives with his Mum (we all get along fine and I have their blessing to use his Edu discount), does it need to go to his address? Is it linked to his name? Does he have to come with me to collect etc?

I was just a card transaction which way authorised by text message on the Pre pre order. Maybe yours was immediate with being Apple Pay? , the guy assured me all was ok and it would be done 2-3 days before collection.

Yeah I think if you entered your card number, expiry date and security code etc. then they will charge you at some point over the next few days. Apple Pay is likely immediate because there’s no other way of getting authorisation other than immediately when you confirm the transaction

I’ve preordered my iPhone 13 Pro through Amazon due to having some credit on there. Does anyone know when it is likely to be delivered? At the moment it just says delivery date pending and seems they are still taking preorders. Do they take as many as possible and await stock or may I get it on release day?
