Finally, I think, have made a decision on case colour! Treating myself to the Apple leather, did have the Wisteria ordered but have had a chance of heart and cancelled this with the Dark Cherry now on its way.

Yeah, it'll be a slow week, but we'll have some distractions with iOS 15 out on Monday (at least tips and tricks to read if you decide not to take the plunge until the 13's arrive). Hands-on reviews / overly excited YouTubers on Tuesday. A tense, empty Wednesday for anyone still on processing; and an anxiety-filled Thursday as we await dispatch confirmation (with mixed feelings about our allocated courier). 🤣

Personally, I think I'm going to spend a good portion of the week clearing down my 12 Pro Max i.e. redundant photos, screenshots and apps I've collected in the past year!

13 Pro Max 512GB Sierra Blue ordered.

Starting to think I should have stuck with silver like all my previous handsets........hope the blue is nice 'in person'......

I sent my previous 11 Pro Max to MM and am currently using an 8 Plus that I borrowed from someone. I keep trying to swipe up from the bottom to close apps......or tap the screen to power the screen on etc.......slowly getting used to the button again, but going from the 8 to the 13 will 'feel' more like a bigger upgrade than from the 11 to 13 lol
 
Whilst not all screen protectors are equal I would say there is nothing to choose from between these three. In fact, I would say high chance they are exactly the same product rolling off the same production line. The rest is just packaging and marketing.

My experience is that I used the Torras one on my 12 Pro Max and is was superb, applied it on launch day and the same one took me through to the point of sale last week and looked as good as the day I applied it. When I came to get one for the 13 Pro Max they hadn’t listed it yet on Amazon (despite the “date first available” saying otherwise) so have gone with the Spigen Full coverage this year.

Ah, I caved. If I'm going to wait that long for an upgrade, it's got to be a good one.

Arranged the the 128GB blue Pro for in-store pick-up. Hope the Apple.com order isn't scheduled to arrive during the window...

So I got an email yesterday stating there was an error when trying to take payment (Apple Pay). After multiple chats with Apple and my bank, the issue seemed to be Apple Pay. Retried through my card directly and the payment has now gone through and my order is preparing to ship. Hallelujah!

I've downloaded quite a few apps from Apple Arcade that I've barely tried or played, they're between one and three gigs each. I'm not struggling for space with 512, but when you have space you think very little of filling it up.

I'm particularly liking features within iOS15 for photos (I have the beta on a backup 10s Max but haven't fully explored it), however, it finally lets you know the status of the photo so I can easily see which photos are edited duplicates (for example when posting a photo to Instagram) - I tend to keep the originals.

On that note, are there any downsides to 'optimising photo library'? I use iCloud photos, I keep full-resolution photos on the 'current' phone and an optimised library on everything else (iPads/older devices). I could save 50gig by optimising the library on the main device but I don't want to be posting low-quality photos (I'm a camera person).

Agreed, plus the difference in price is pretty minimal. You'll get a chunk of it back in resale anyway. If you're keeping your phone for several years, it's worth paying the extra £170 (I think) imo.

Maybe I missed this but Apple have moved the ear speaker on the iPhone 13 Pro compared to the 12 Pro as it appears pushed out further to the edge. Only reason I noticed is last years full coverage screen protectors have a tiny notch / break to allow for the ear speaker where as many of the 12 Pro Max ones had a cutout as it was lower.

Please do correct me if I am wrong.

Made this error when I had my 12 Pro Max replaced last month after getting water in the camera system on holiday (🏊‍♂️) and lost access to a few. Didn’t even cross my mind so helpful reminder!

Yes it’s been moved to the top to allow the notch to be made smaller

Oh, glad you've said this! As someone who never restores from a backup and starts afresh with each new device, what's the best way forward? Temporarily remove 2FA from those accounts, download the authenticator app on the new iPhone, then enable 2FA again?

I had this when I bought my 12 Pro from my 11 Pro, and I know ill have it when I get my 13 Pro, no matter how much anyone tries to convince me, the phone is literally no different other than the camera. And no matter how much Apple tries to make me, im not a film director so their super duper pro res 4000k camera does not matter to me 😅 The main reason I do it though is to get the best price for selling my phone and get to buy the newest for the cheapest possible

However I am looking forward to getting a Gold phone.., still surprised I went through with my last minute U from Silver but the Gold and green leather Apple case had me

I am interested to see if this new ProMotion screen is noticeable though, I don't think ive used it on an iPad yet or if I have I haven't taken note

Hoping its as noticeable as an iPhone 3G to iPhone 4 Retina display was!

I can't talk, I used to buy every single iPad, including 3 and 4. Moving on...

Me too! My iPad Pro is 120hz, and I have high refresh monitors for my Mac mini and PC, so I'm looking to complete the set with a high refresh phone! Plus, my X is just a dog at this point (battery, cameras...).

Any discount for unidays if I buy the phone outright from another retailer do I get discount on anything from apple etc apple care etc?
