Just a tip guys, when you checked out if it says “express delivery” it means it’s coming from the uk via dpd/dhl. If it says standard delivery it’s coming via ups from abroad. If it says postal delivery it’s coming by Royal Mail in the uk.

Thank you for this information. Mine says “Fri 24 by Express Delivery”.

NatWest and yup, exactly the same - although NatWest would not admit it was Apple Pay and said they couldn’t understand why it wasn’t going through. The transaction declined about 6 times in the end.

Ended up paying with my Monzo debit card over the phone with Apple

Aye, same for me. NatWest were no help. Glad you got it sorted though!

Well it’s bad news from Amazon today. Ordered my Sierra Blue 13 Pro Max (128GB) around 13:14 on preorder day and have now been given a delivery date of between 8th October - 11th November :/

Ouch! That really sucks. Really sorry to hear this for those effected.

Oh, glad you've said this! As someone who never restores from a backup and starts afresh with each new device, what's the best way forward? Temporarily remove 2FA from those accounts, download the authenticator app on the new iPhone, then enable 2FA again?
I strongly recommend the authenticator app called Authy (by Twilio). It backs up all of your accounts and it's super easy to restore all of them to new devices!

I've been using it for a few years now and it makes migrating between devices a breeze.

That sucks! I've always found Amazon to be very flakey with pre-ordering pretty much anything. They seem to mess up their pre-order allocations regularly, leading to delayed orders really often.

It's also kinda rubbish how they don't show a delivery estimate on the product page for pre-orders.

Yeah, I do have my 11 Pro Max still so could be worse. Waiting a min of 3 weeks is acceptable, but if it’s November I’ll cancel and get it somewhere else - Apple Stores will have consistent re-stocks every few days I’d imagine.

Who knows, may even avoid any defects and get a better batch of phone but gotta think manufacturing of the iPhone is pretty refined at this point.

Would have to agree. I have only ever pre-ordered video games from them before this iPhone but even so, they usually messed the orders up so shouldn’t have expected much. Main reason I went with them for the phone was for the interest free 5 month instalments.

Just been in the apple store over in newcastle here. Had a mess about with the 12 pro and pro max. Much preferred the size of the pro max but have the 13 pro on order for friday. Anybody had experience with changing the order through apple? Got the 0% financing deal so that makes it more complicated

Whilst not all screen protectors are equal I would say there is nothing to choose from between these three. In fact, I would say high chance they are exactly the same product rolling off the same production line. The rest is just packaging and marketing.

My experience is that I used the Torras one on my 12 Pro Max and is was superb, applied it on launch day and the same one took me through to the point of sale last week and looked as good as the day I applied it. When I came to get one for the 13 Pro Max they hadn’t listed it yet on Amazon (despite the “date first available” saying otherwise) so have gone with the Spigen Full coverage this year.

I agree. Yes I’ve bought some crap ones in the past that caught flint etc- but last couple years I’ve bought glass protectors off amazon for £2/£3 and they’ve been excellent

Anyone else still old school and backs up via computer like me? I just don’t use iCloud for everything cba and cba to pay rather use my phone storage

I’m the opposite, with my plethora of Apple devices I need it all in sync. Photos, docs, passwords etc. The phone plays a small part, it’s the important stuff on the MacBook which uses most my cloud storage

I find that Apple is the most reliable when it comes to delivery dates that’s why I always order with them. If you order with any other retailers it delivery dates can be hit and miss.

Anybody sent off to argos trade in and have any feedback to report? I’ve received my return pack but will be waiting until Friday to send my 12 pro off.
I've sent off for a pack from them too. Never used them before but offering £494 for my iPhone 12. Next best was O2 Recycle at £410. I'm a bit dubious to send it to Argos/Likewize - not a lot of reviews and the website is a bit flaky. But if Argos has put their name on it, they just be ok.
