For those of you on iUP. Was the upgrade process seamless? i.e was it easy and all done online, with a pre credit check (like they do in the USA) or is it the same as signing up for the first time?
Think most took the 24 months iPhone Payments last year which could be pre approved. Can’t remember but wasn’t IUP needed a store visit

Automatically unlocks after 6 months into contract.
That a new thing? Thought it only unlocked after the 24 month contracted ended, unless you pay £9 which you can only do after 6 months.

Anyway, that's a good change by EE.

Yup they recently changed it. Plus the Ofcom ruling comes into effect from Dec 2021. Mobile networks are not allowed to sell locked phones any more.

You can also check the sim restriction status in settings.

Nice 👍 Might actually do the digital SIM now so I can add my work sim. Really hate carrying two phones around.

If you already do not know and have smart benefit as part of your EE phone or sim contract. You can activate Apple Tv, Apple Music and Apple Arcade each month. They will remain activated for 24 months even if your Smart Benefit is set to BT Sports.

Yeah I did know, but I already pay for Apple One Premier for the family. Then Added BT Sport, also pay the extra £5 for large screen and Ultimate.

Does this require me to swap my smart benefit, I really don’t want to lose BT Sports and I also pay £5 extra for large screen.

So you can activate Apple TV, music and games with only 1 benefit?

Do you just do one after the other until they’re all activated?

Yup thats what i did. Activated Apple Tv+ then wait for new window to open up. Activated Arcade then wait again and went back to BT Sport.

How does this EE Roaming work now there cashing in on Brexit. Ino there was a date given on new contracts but how does it stand on current contracts if you don’t upgrade. Not looked to much in to it yet

Comes into effect Jan 2022 for new or upgrading customers from 7th July 2021. If you just let the contact roll on rather than upgrading the new charges won’t apply. However there’s likely to come a point where your tariff is no longer competitive so they’ll get you when you look to renegotiate a better deal subject to the new terms

Thx so I am better staying on my current contract which is pretty decent. it’s only £12 for 100GB

I’ve looked into this and I only have Apple Music as an option. I don’t think I signed up for a specific iPhone sim only so that might be why.

I bought the ESR glass screen protector for the iPhone 13 Pro Max today. It arrives tomorrow. I am now committed to going Max this year!
Nice. Mind posting pics when it arrives? Curious to see the new cutouts. They appear to have a camera cutout for the clear version but not the one with the black border so would be good to see

Sure - I’ll post some pics tomorrow. Got a link for the black bordered version? I might get one and see which is best.

It ain’t cheap but I suspect it’ll come down in price closer to launch. I suspect this doesn’t have the hole because it’s toughened glass and it might compromise the integrity

I have the amorite protector on my 12 and it’s flawless. No bubbles. Looks like there’s no protector on and doesn’t scratch easily like their standard ones seem to. 100% recommend.

Found the link for the 6.1 version. Ordered it. Appears to be some duplication in the listings with a cheaper option. Got this for £13.99 which appears to be in line with the 12 pricing. Will post pics tomorrow
