Really am considering keeping my 12 pro max. They are very expensive and seems stupid to upgrade after 10 months

Time will tell tho

In all honesty I’m sure we would all look back and think does upgrading yearly actually made a drastic difference? Incremental upgrades are nice, but the better camera and MagSafe hasn’t made a massive difference in my overall experience. Im sure having a 2+ year gap between upgrades would make the jump seem much more beneficial…

But…

We’re all here because we’re Apple fans, early adopters and we want the latest and greatest. That doubt you have will change by the keynote and you’ll be caught up in the hype no doubt!

All apart of the Apple experience!

So true bud but if being honest and sensible which will probably change watching the event. I rarely use the phone except to use as a phone and snap the odd photo.

Most of my usage is on my iPad and I have the latest 1TB M1

Sensible head says skip this year at the moment 🙈

Can someone please clarify for me;

When sending to Music Magpie do you only send the handset, not charging cable or box?
Will erase all settings get rid of iOS 15?
And, should I take the screen protector off?
Thanks!

- Handset only
- no. I’ve done a full restore through iTunes
- yes

Music Magpie app not showing any iPhone 12’s to sell to them. Anyone else’s the same?
Same. You have to use the website

So MM selling a pristine condition 12 Pro 128gb for £819! Buying them for £560 currently so a tidy profit!

I’ll have to change the missus more for mine

I’ve cancelled delivery of the screen protector with the hole. I prefer the cleaner look of the amorite version. Arrives tomorrow hopefully!
Please def. give us your opinion on this when you receive it, I’m considering buying the ESR amorite version.

1. Just the handset, no box or cable
2. It will reset the phone but you’ll still be on iOS 15. I have sold phones running beta software to MM before and they haven’t cared but if you have the time I would restore iOS 14 using iTunes first just in case.
3. don’t think it matters, they will remove it regardless.

Has anyone previously tried to coincide sending back to Music Magpie with the launch day?

I’m thinking if MM still have the code & same price on tomorrow I’ll rebook again with them.

That way the 13 arrives on Friday 24th & I’ll have until Mon 27th to post back to MM.

Just bear in mind it’s the day they process the phone that counts not the day they receive it. Their T&C’s say they can offer you a lower price if it isn’t processed (as opposed to received) in 21 days

I'm hoping for this, or better still as i live near to one, they open up the drop off option alongside the UPGRADE21 code so i can just drop it off over that weekend once the new phone is set up 🤞

I think that wording about it being ready to be traded in will make sense post launch of iOS 15. My own caution was that music magpie maybe wouldn’t accept with the beta on there but looks like @palemonkey has had success in the past without downgrading

Thanks. How easy is it to restore with iTunes? Might as well be safe than any delay getting paid.

7:55am - refresh, refresh, refresh 😂

...I'm pretty sure Pre-Orders normally go live around mid-day to 1pm. I remember sitting in a restaurant having lunch last year, on pre-order day for the 12, and hitting refresh, refresh, refresh in the Apple Store app!!!

I'm happy to be told otherwise though if this is incorrect......!

Yeah, they seem to have moved to a 1pm slot now. I preferred the 8am releases though, get up, get it ordered then go on with your day. Rather than it being in the middle of the day.
That said, it's felt like the past few launches haven't necessitated the mad 'i must get in within a few minutes or I'll miss it' of old though. Guess it depends each year and will be affected by model and finish, but I'm sure the 12 PM 512 silver i went for last year was still available for launch day for hours if not a day or so after pre orders went live.

No you’re spot on, I’m just remembering the old 8:00am pre-orders which they seemed to do for years. Would have to get to the office early and setup website, iPad and iPhone and get refreshing them all!

I’m sure it will be 1:00pm again
