Does anyone else bother with camera lens protectors on their phones? I never usually bother but with the camera system being such an integral part of the Pro I'm keen to do whatever I can to keep them free of any blemishes.

I know the glass on the camera lenses is different to that on the screen and it's more durable / scratch resistant, but they protrude so much I fear they're begging to be bashed up over time.

Sapphire glass. I wouldn’t worry about it.

I'm buying a lens protector for the first time from AliExpress. Find it here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001804039662.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.613f4c4dRrtzVX

I‘m quite upset about the whole ‘no plastic film’ set up - it was always an integral part of the unboxing process whereby you would cut the plastic EXACTLY where the seams of the box were in order to keep said plastic intact!

I’m calling this ‘PlasticGate’ along with previous years’ antenagate and bendgate…..!

You utter legend! Ty so much. Didn’t know you can export your accounts. I was panicking because idk what one of the codes is for, but i didn’t want to lose it just in case… haha
Just use Authy app, does all that in one, used it for years and great developers too.

In addition to my order for a Peel clear hard case from the US, I've also picked up one of Apple's leather cases in the "dark cherry" colour.

Image 02: Outdoors with natural light; you can see how the camera bump area is enlarged

Image 05: Indoors with warm LED spotlights.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the colour and in my opinion is Apple's best purple leather they've done so far. Aubergine was too dark from the iPhone 11 and simply looked black most of the time.

Anybody ordered the midnight silicone case? Does it look like blue like the series 7 midnight is said to be?

I did for my 12 Pro Max and I feel it gave an added level of protection and wasn't unsightly and didn't affect photo quality. I think, if using a case, they also help prevent bits getting in between case and rear of phone which can cause scratches - my Pro max had zero scratches on the rear. Saying that, they seem to break from time-to-time so best to have a spare to swap out.

I got these in preparation for my 13 Pro Max delivery.

Never done this - my phone is in my pocket sometimes with keys. I’ve had the screen get scratched but never the camera lens.

That does look really good. Making me second guess my Golden Brown choice.

Also a nod to MM and the rest resellers that you’ve kept the phone in prime condition ;)

Never had issues with lens damage (touch wood) and would have apple care to cover anything unfortunate

I was reading the US thread earlier and the comments just remind me of this

I get the excitement but release day is the 24th.

everyone was overly excited on Friday and now following the come down post pre-ordering, need a pick-me-up.

Unfortunately Apple order won’t see any more movement till Thursday. We’ll just have to wait for reviews to drop Tuesday (I think)
