I ordered through amazon U.K. at 2 mins past 1pm and I now got my delivery date. 14th October to 22nd November.

As I’m currently situated in Malta (Europe), so Amazon U.K. is the cheapest and fastest route for expats like myself.
You can use iCloud backup for some, others allow you to transfer from one phone to another, but you’d need the app on both phones. Just set up and test your new phone BEFORE wiping the old one.
What about the post-Brexit import tarrifs? Buying from UK and delivering to E.U. sees amazon adding those taxes.
I (pre) pre-ordered on Wednesday 15th the pro max in silver 128 gb as I store everything in the cloud but after reading about the 4K video I decided to change my order on Friday to 256gb - cue 1.5 hours of madness of trying to log in to Apple to complete purchase while I watched all the pick up options disappear.
It’s now arriving 4th - 11th October by express delivery - Normally I upgrade through EE (who were still showing as 24th delivery) but it was cheaper to buy through Apple this time.

In the case of amazon U.K. , they deduct vat and add the applicable vat and taxes of the country you’re shipping to.
If you’re bothered for pro-res video, you’ll need the 256gb. Otherwise, save some money if you can manage on 128gbHave ordered the 13 pro Graphite in 128gb and 256gb for collection, not sure which one to keep though

EDIT - Just checked now and they’re STILL offering £519 for a 128Gb iPhone 12 (perhaps yours is a 64 gig, hence why you’re only seeing £494?).

The 128Gb won't record in Pro-Res. Only the 256gb and above will
You’re limited to 1080p ProRes and not 4K ProRes. You can still record in 4K dolby vision though.
ProRes is for like 0.01% of people who are buying it. Unless you’re a pro I wouldn’t worry about it.
It isn’t something to be fixed. It’ll be a deliberate internal policy decision on limits with Apple Pay transactions. A few banks have them but won’t admit to it or disclose the amount.
This is where the likes of Monzo and Starling really start leaping ahead. Traditional banks are archaic and slow to move with the times
