Question for anyone who's done a pickup from store before, added a Wisteria leather case to my pre-order but having seen the Dark Cherry I'm thinking that would be the better option. Anyone ever changed the case colour when they've gone to store to pick up? Do they allow that?

All paid upfront btw.

I also have a quote from MM for £535 for my 12 Pro, they state I’m fully insured up to this amount with their postage methods so I may opt to use them instead. After reading a previous post on the company Argos use I did some research of my own and a disturbing number of negative reviews. MM always seem to get good mentions here.
It’s a shame Apple are only offering £450 or I’d have simply traded with them when I buy my iPhone on Friday.

I have been using MM for a few years, never had a problem. I have traded in iPhones, Apple Watches, iPads, games and etc. I will be trading in my iPhone 12 Pro as well this Friday (I got £565 because I used a coupon code to get 10% extra, limited to max £30).

There’ll be loads of cases. Won’t be a problem changing case colour.

After starting switching to the burner at 10:15pm, here we are at 1:45am and I think I’ve just about got it up and running fully

I don’t miss this part of getting a new phone!

12 Pro all packaged away ready to post in the morning to MM. The ERS screen protector box comes in handy to put the phone inside (in some bubble wrap also) and then into a padded envelope to post off

This is where the likes of Monzo and Starling really start leaping ahead. Traditional banks are archaic and slow to move with the times
I’m presuming HSBC is not one of them. I’ve never had any problems with them regards Apple Pay limits including my purchases of a 12 Pro Max last year and a 13 Pro Max this year both from Apple.

At what point do you apply your screen protector?

The second you unbox the phone, avoiding touching the screen at all until its on?

Or do you take the phone out, get a feel of it without any case and then have to wipe the screen and apply the screen protector after?
I usually don’t apply the screen protector myself. I go to a kiosk in the local shopping centre where they sell cases and screen protectors. I buy my screen protector online from Amazon and get them to put it on as soon as the phone is taken out of the box. They charge a small fee of £2 which I’m happy to pay.

The ESR protector comes with an application frame, you can't mess it up with it.
Last year I was done within a minute with it, and the armourite came with a similar frame.
No point paying extra.

Has anyone else just had their existing iPhone bring up a "Get Ready For Your New iPhone" notification that takes you to Settings to trigger the extra iCloud space for migration thing, or is that just those of us running the beta?

Yes, I received that message as well.
Edit: I'm running beta as well, sorry

Question about using a burner phone

About to transfer over onto my 7+ so I can post off my 12 in the morning

I'm pretty sure the 7+ is 32gb, and on my current 12 ive used about 70gb out of 128gb, and then about 100gb out of 200gb iCloud

When I transfer my backup onto my 7+, what does it not install due to the phone not having enough storage? apps?

If that makes sense.. I will have had this same issue last year im guessing but can't seem to remember there being any issues with not having enough memory on the phone and things not being installed
I’d be interested to know the exact answer to this too. My 6S burner is 64GB whilst my 12PM was 256GB, I was using about 100GB memory & 2tb iCloud.

Assume anything that is not backed upto the phone memory on our older iPhone will be saved in our iCloud.

When I restore to my 13 Pro Max on Friday I’m going to use my previous 12PM backup done this weekend, just to be safe. To quote Ripley in Aliens: "I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure”. I’m applying the same ethos to restoring back to the 13!

Also, I’ve spent too long this year sorting out all my data & apps into proper folders to do a new fresh iPhone start so definitely need to restore!

Turns out I can't answer this, my 7+ is also 128gb and not the 32gb I thought..

I realised a lot of the memory used on the phone itself was Apple Music saved to listen offline though, so all that just hasn't downloaded as expected

other than that though I still have 80gb out of 128gb free on the burner phone

I'm on the beta too but not had a notification
