As someone who only ever gets £10 cases off of Amazon, that OtterBox case people have been sharing has me very tempted I must admit... I'm just slightly concerned about the amount of rubbish that might end up sticking to the Light Blue!

It also doesn't deliver until October which is frustrating, I wonder if there's any chance of these dates being pulled in, or maybe less so as it's not an actual Apple product?

....so who's updating to iOS 15 today (drops in the UK at around 6pm) ?

Yeah, tempted to wait but I say that every year and it never happens! I'll likely update and hold back from fully exploring. I did the beta on an Xs Max and managed to restrict my curiosity to changes in the photos and weather app, although I did accidentally try to use shortcuts on that device a couple of months ago and that messed up the shortcut on all my devices - it was a shortcut to download a picture from Instagram, now all of the devices say the shortcuts app has been updated and is incompatible. I hope that when all devices are on 15 and it works again!

The other thing leaning me towards updating is my whole chain of devices. I have the current 12 pro max & Apple Watch 6, Xs Max, iPad 11 (2019), iPad Pro 9.7 and the last iPad Mini. I usually jump right on an iOS update to get them all done in an evening 😅 however as it's a biggie I might hold off for a day and see what the feedback is for the early downloaders.

I think another couple of plusses (for me) for downloading before the 13 arrives is that I need to update the 12 in order to update the watch. Apple servers are likely to be hammered on Friday with everyone activating phones whether due to being new, old iPhones gifted/sold to family and friends.

I will be updating all my devices this evening. This year I didn't sign up for the beta so will be nice to explore all the new features (hopefully with no major bugs).

Also have this, luckily not had to use it yet but for £13 a month along with the travel insurance which I have used its great

Pretty happy with the bank as a whole aswell, the mobile banking app is pretty good also (can get annoying sometimes with the card reader, but at the same time its a saving grace instead of having the age old problem of having to remember 7 different passwords to log into mobile banking.. 😅 )
I’d still rather have AC+.

Knowing I can go into any Apple store, in any town/country and get a repair or replacement is worth the money to me.

I think that bank account insurances make you send away for repair?

That’s not for me I’m afraid.

I also use my phone for work, so minimising downtime is absolutely crucial.

Yeh that's why I use EE Insurance, same day or next day replacement iPhone if damaged/warranty issue. They also replace with Apple white box replacements Genius give in store. Easier than traveling to an Apple Store especially because of the same day / next day appointment issues.

I agree. AppleCare+ is undoubtedly expensive but it’s a premium product that gives you complete peace of mind. For me, that’s worth it.

Payment is now pending for my store collection ! It’s now on the move !!

I have noticed the same, I was worried as I had a text and email last night telling me there was a problem with my payment. It looks to be sorted out now

Also my credit card text me to say Apple had tried to take the money and needed to confirm it was me making the order :)

My advice (FWIW), is never, ever, give Currys/PCW your money.

in the event of an after sales issue, you will regret that you did.

Just my 2p.
I usually follow this rule, but they were the only place I could buy an RTX 3080 last year 😬 Only ever heard bad things… Not good.

I had exactly the same situation last night but it’s all sorted now.

This was after I’d used my John Lewis Partnership card for the pre-order last Friday. It’s a card that I use all the time to give Apple shed loads of money. You’d think that they’d have some algorithm showing my typical spending. 😡

Your JL physical card failed? Hmmm… I’ve not got a warning yet. Maybe because i set everything up before the preorder.

If anyone wants to get any discount at Apple online store for accessories and some hardware (not latest released) send me a PM and I will send you a link.

Anybody know how long MM take to send their QR code email?

Change of plan now, selling my 12 Pro to somebody and sending their X off instead and they're paying the difference up to my original 12 Pro MM offer

2 hours later im still waiting for MM to send the email through.. I know it wasn't instant on my original order but it wasn't 2 hours either, I want to get it posted off!

Mine didn’t come through either. You can however download it from your order history. It’s the same pdf they would‘ve attached to the email. QR code within it. Choose the option to download pack and send guide on the selling tab

Thanks for that, I did download the pack and send guide but didn't bother to scroll down as I thought it looked like a generic document on how to send something 😓🤣 Rookie mistake!

I am surprised to read here this year that people are having issues with their pre-orders using Apple Pay. I thought the whole point was that with the extra security and multi factor approch it would prevent these sort of problems...hopefully next year it is smoother for everyone that had issues.

Is anyone making the move to an eSIM this year? Even though EE have improved the process, I don't like that it can take up to 24 hours and surprised they charge 50p for it. I need my phone for work and just to swap a sim possibly taking a full day still seems a bit crazy.

You would have thought so… at least we don’t have the Apple Pay card issues as well. What a farce that has been.

I’ve always shied away from using an ESim mostly as I don’t understand how you transfer it between phones etc..

What’s the process with EE? I was just planning to take the nano sim from my iPhone X and put it i to the 13 Pro. I guess there isn’t much point unless you need dual sims?
