There will always be something newer and better. Best approach: wait as long as you can, then buy the best you can afford, use and enjoy.

The true upgrade from the iPhone 12.

Of course the 13 isn't a big jump over the 12: people with the 12 aren't the target market for the 13. No normal (non-tech enthusiast) person upgrades their phone every year - the average iPhone upgrade cycle is every 3-4 years, apparently.

can't see how apple are pushing ahead with touch ID under the screen if its delayed to 2023! Yes, in a pandemic, with mask wearing etc there were clear benefits... but hopefully in 2023 we'll be in a better place. can't see why they'd digress to Touch ID myself.


(Apple to have a more recent track record of digression though! MagSafe coming back and then talk of it returning to the new MacBooks longside additional ports on the chassis... so who knows what they dream up in Cupertino)

ESR Armorite Screen Protectors for my 13 Pro Max have arrived from Amazon. Excellent packaging and the actual protectors seem durable at first glance. The black rim is also incredibly small as well, so I don't expect it to cover any of the screen. A definite steel for £13.59. Roll on Friday!

At what point do Apple drop the number?

They seem to have done it with the iPad recently and just keep calling it 'The new iPad' (which does make it difficult to know which one you're actually buying unless you look at the specs 😅)

But they (and other companies who do the same) can't just keep upping the number every year, what happens when we get to the iPhone 31?

I thought they might stop with the iPhone X and although still numbers, switch to Roman numerals or something

I get it: it seems odd that in 10 years we might be awaiting the introduction of the iPhone 23 lineup, but at the moment, I don’t see this changing.

Getting £600 or so for a one-year-old Pro iPhone is ridiculous!! On eBay not much attraction going on over there either. Costs over £1000 when it came out. I thought Apple maintained second-hand pricing. Have to think twice about whether to buy 13 series, have to shell out another £400. I don't know if that is even worth it for 13. Depreciation getting worse year by year and having four models now does not help.

Opted to upgrade, swapped existing phone and went for the iphone 13 pro max 1TB. But got the distinct feeling I wont be getting it on release day. Which is fine. Love the Sierra Blue so sticking with that colour even if there's a delay. Apparently thus far, it's 'from the 24th September' - so I'm still waiting for an update on delivery. Anyone else upgrading through Sky?

I upgraded through Sky and went for the iphone 13 pro max 256gb in graphite. Order showing delivery date as ‘coming soon’ though received an email today from Sky confirming 24th delivery.

iPhones are more obtainable than ever now.. IUP, 0% finance, trade-ins direct from Apple.. more stock, less demanded, lower prices I'm afraid

they'll still deprecate less than a Sammy!

No it’s not cut me off, I have the option to download onto my current device or for another. I think the option initially said request a eSIM and now download eSIM.

Exactly .... I only went with eSIM on my 11 Pro Max so that I could go dual SIM. If I didn't need dual SIM, then eSIM isn't worth the bother, I'd just use a normal SIM.

I would like to go Dual Sim as I carry 2 phones and one is a company issue absolutely awful Android Xcover 4s it is the absolute worst.
