Which Model are you getting?

Looks like all the sizes and colours of the iPhone 12 Pro now show a delivery of 20 Oct - 27 Oct although a couple of the options are still available for in store pick up at Bromley for Sat 25 Sep:

  • Sierra Blue: 128gb/256gb
  • Gold: 128gb/256gb/512gb
  • Graphite: 128gb
...and there was us all panicking to put our orders in the other day!!!!!!!

Yea still plenty of pro models around for 24th.

It’s the pro max which are sparse

Up to £100 I’ve read somewhere on here which obviously isn’t enough.

Yea the standard Royal Mail tracked 48 is up to £100.

MM seem to cover the full amount which is specific to them using their postage options (Royal Mail, Hermes, Asda or kiosk)

Using any of MM shopping options means it’s fully insured

To be clear, it’s insured by them and not the courier (ie Royal Mail), so you’d need to fight with MM to get them to payout. Tracked 48 has no additional insurance or delivery guarantees.

I personally don’t feel entirely comfortable with their ‘don’t use special delivery’ messaging claiming processing will take longer as I’d rather know it is actually going to be delivered in a timely manner and insured by the courier.

I always use Special Delivery at my own expense for sending to recyclers, anything less is just not worth the risk IMO (although I refuse to use MM after a bad experience with them a year or two ago)

Just curious will my bank still cover/compensate if the device gets lost in transit etc. My device is still on the policy schedule as I havent removed it.

Yep, see my note above.

People’s experiences will always differ and until you’ve had a bad one you never really know.

I’ve traded with MM for years and, touch wood, never had an issue with items arriving or being paid the quoted amounts. Have sold 4-5 phones over the years, my MacBook, old consoles etc.

Always used their labels too, just rock up to the post office with your packaged item and QR code and you don’t even need to print off at home.

Obviously people will be cautious but they are one company I trust. Seeing Argos send out a flimsy envelope would put me right off using them!

People should use their own couriers by all means, you will probably lose the MM update emails etc on how it’s progressing, and also make sure you put details of your order and where it is coming from in the pack. Maybe give yourselves a few extra days too

The Nike Run Club app on Apple Watch already does this (pre Watch OS8) and is SOOOO much better at tracking runs than the standard Apple Fitness running app with Siri......
I did try the Nike Run Club app once upon a time when I first jumped on the Apple Watch bandwagon, but I can't remember why I decided to not continue with it. Will revisit it!

Ordered within 2 minutes of them going live, 256 Pro in Graphite. Current estimated date is the 15th November... I am kind of hoping that this is just a random date they have put down whilst they establish the actual amount of stock they are going to have.

I also have a pickup ordered at Apple but would rather get the Amazon one since I have around £340 in credit there to use...

I got a text/email from DPD saying my package would be delivered today between 2pm and 3pm 😰😰

Initial excitement then the realisation set in that it’s my replacement hoover from GTech 😤

So not only is it not new Apple toys, I’m going to have to hoover the bloody house today 😭

Always used Runkeeper and recently moved to strava as I know more people using it

In a work Zoom call, my burner 6S battery nearly died so I plugged in to charge on call.

6S went extremely hot, brainwave kicked in to try an experiment (whilst we all wait for the embargo to lift!).

Ingredients
1 medium egg

Process
Keep the 6S plugged in on charge and flip over onto the front of a flat surface.
Crack the egg carefully into a small frying pan.
Place frying pan on top of 6S.
Wait between 12-13 minutes if you like a runny egg or 15-17 minutes if you prefer a harder egg.

Result
1 healthy fried egg slowly cooked by unhealthy iPhone 6S battery!
