I don’t have any issues with mine and I barely carry a purse. I love the size of my Pro Max and hopefully in the future, they’ll make it 7 inches.
Don't tease... I would love an iPhone that size.

I prefer bigger phones. For a bit of fun a tried using a XS for a few days not so long ago and could not get on with it. the width was far to slim for me. I prefer a wider phone to a slimmer one.

How do you find larger phones practical though? Any Max size device feels bulky and heavy to me. I don't like the feeling of a larger phone in my pocket when sitting down over fear of it breaking, but also the weight, and taking one out of my pocket each time I sit down is something I don't want to have to think about.

I'd love a larger device with a larger screen, but for me practicality and comfort day-to-day wins over the enjoyment of a larger screen.

Obviously only applies to those who carry a phone in a jeans/trouser pocket, it would be easier if you only keep it in a bag or jacket pocket.

I loved the X but hated the size. The keyboard was too narrow and the width was too slim for me as well. I felt like my whole hand wrapped around it.

....Plus sized phones just don't fit in pockets!!

I remember the iPhone 8 Plus which was my first 'Plus' sized phone - I had to remove it from my pocket every time I wanted to sit down as it was just too big to fit in there!!!!!!
:p

I had the galaxy note 9 before my 12. My word it was a nightmare- especially given that I wear skinny fit jeans/trousers.

Going to the 12 was a breath of fresh air considering I too no longer needed to take my phone out of my pocket to sit down or tie my shoe laces!

....I'm thinking that if this year's iPhones don't really offer anything new over the current iPhone 12 series (and looking at the leaks, they are identical in looks other than the colours and additional camera lenses), I may keep hold of my 12 and choose to upgrade my Series 4 Apple Watch instead (assuming the S7 is announced this year!).

I want to upgrade my S4 more than my 12 Pro Max. I’m overdo for a new watch.

Strange how the op @Jinjin only focused on 3 screen sizes in the thread starter post yet there are 4 models?

Same form-factors as the 12/12 Pro/12 Pro Max
  • 5.4-inches, 6.1-inches, and 6.7-inches

12/13 mini = 5.4"
12/13 = 6.1"
12/13 Pro = 6.1"
12/13 Pro Max

Give the mini some love man ;)

Depending on the 13 mini CAD price, I would grab a iPhone 13 mini 128 GB, if the price is too high, I don't see much difference between the 13 and the 12 or the 13 mini battery life is poor, I'll get the regular 12.

There seems to be smaller differences yet maybe worth the upgrade - just minor in design.
Faster Apple A15 SoC - faster & est 20% more efficient.
Nearly identical cameras (wide and ultrawide) but with Sensor-Shift (1 cam on mini, 2+ on the others)
Smaller Notch
iPhone 13 Mini (2,406mAh) vs iPhone 12 Mini (2,227mAh) 8% increase.
mmWave 5G
Smaller notch,

Possibilities:
Reverse Qi charging
Smaller notch could mean even faster or wider angle detection for FaceID??
Could a different coating on all lenses to reduce/eliminate lens flare. There is too much from any light source (sun, lights, moon ... the moon!)

Wishful thinking:
Telephoto + Wide Angle cameras (hey this is wishful thinking section)

Honestly if you're used to the X/Xr/11 series size in your hand then yea the 12/13 would suit you best, especially if the price is $100 more than the mini again. But if the Pro starts under $300 ... I'm sure Rogers/Telus/Bell and their primary sub-carriers (Fido/Koodo/Virgin ?) would have a great contract deal on launch week!

FYI Rogers just started charging a $50 connection fee!

...none of these would entice me to upgrade from 12 to 13.

My last upgrade was iPhone XS to 12 so that was a justified upgrade but in my honest opinion, I'm not seeing anything yet on the 13.

Lets just wait and see what gets officially announced..!!!!

I agree. This will be the last year Apple will introduce the mini again. Unless sales for the mini surges.

Sounds like you'll be waiting for the Titanium Chassis iPhone + Periscope + no notch, iPhone.

I just ordered a Caudabe Sheath for my 12 Pro so I'm absolutely not upgrading this year.

(Ha!)

As always, I'm looking forward to the event and following this thread while people suffer through the wait for their shiny new devices!

If the rumours are true about having a 120Hz display, then that would temp me to upgrade from my 12 Pro. Based on my experience with the iPad Pro, animations and scrolling is just soother - yes it really does make Safari more snappy! The possibility of sensor shift stabilisation on the non-pro max iPhone would be nice, as would the rumoured always on display, though think that is less likely. There’s also a rumour of a new colour, sunset gold, which supposed to look more like bronze, which sounds promising. The one thing that may stop me upgrading is if there’s a significant upgrade to the Apple Watch, particularly the health tracking aspects, as would value that more than a slightly faster phone with a wizzy display.

my issue with Apple choosing titanium for the iPhone chassis is the recyclable aspect.

Apple was supposed to close their loop of resources for recycling. Choosing a new element means more sourcing from mining resources which increases their carbon foot print and contribution significantly.

Be interesting to see if we get the onscreen display like the Apple Watch. Just concerned this year that will have a shortfall paying of my apple payments plan as the max didn’t come out till November.

Think I should keep 256GB… don’t think I need 512GB but with a baby on way in 5 weeks not sure if more space is needed for videos and photos. Think I have 126GB left of 256GB.
