Has anyone been able to turn on Face ID Watch unlock in Face ID settings, or is the communication error just an iPhone 13 bug affecting every unit?

So excited to hear all the delivery and pick up stories 😎 Happy launch day all. I hope anyone with delays gets their phone soon. Can't wait to pick up mine from the store tomorrow afternoon (after cancelling my pre-order delivery from Apple 4th - 11th October)

However, as I thought I was going to be delayed getting it I haven't ordered a case.

Can anyone recommend a totally clear case (without the mag safe logo all over the back) that has drop protection - I normally order Tech21 but I probably won't get it for around 7 days so will look around to see if I can get something similar quicker.

My eldest will get my 11 pro max and my youngest will get the 10XS - so I need to swap tomorrow as they will be as excited as me 🤣

Any recommendations will be fab 😎

Finally home and set up! Got my iPhone on the iUP in store no problem as usual. Got home to find out DHL had delivered the iPad Mini to my neighbour! Absolute result.

I look forward to comparing snake lengths with you all in 2022.

Did you get last years iPhone on release day on IUP? What payment did you have to make? Just the £69 or is there still 1 more payment on the IUP to do?

Yeah... is it OK to restore from a iOS14 backup or does the old device need to be updated before being installed on an iOS 15 device? (partner is on iOS 14 and will get my 12 Pro Max, it would be good if I don't have to update his phone before transferring his data)

It'll probably work but I'd expect it to be smoother/quicker if the OS version is the same.

Thanks to all who recommended the ESR screen protector. I went for the expensive Belkin option last year and it ended up with an air bubble after a day. This was the three pack and first one went on with no issues.

I was just on the phone to AppleCare to cancel my previous phones cover. The agent said they were receiving lots of calls because people cannot take up AppleCare on device, there is a problem with their system right now, seems you can do it over the phone. It took me 40 minutes to get through to them though.

They will have support for this "coming soon". In the past I have used 3rd party programs to do it with success but they are usually paid services.

Never had a Max before or even a Plus, if you had asked me a while back I would have said it’s way too big, but after using one for a couple of hours I can’t see myself going back.

An eSIM swap is relatively straightforward with EE. You just need to run the EE app on your old phone select replace eSIM and scan the QR code with your new iPhone. Then it sends a text for verification and the eSIM will then be activated on your new phone.

It is so I’ve heard, but I’m on IUP so I have to give my current 12 in and pickup my 13.

So will I have to boot up my 13, setup as new temporarily, then login, download EE app, then do transfer and get code from 12? Then when home do a restore and do iCloud restore?

Just that will all be time, and I just wanted to ideally pickup and run!!

Will Apple do this and wait?

Great! Thought I may still have 1 payment as comes out 25th-27th normally, and think first payment was in Nov, and I thought you needed 11 payments, and it’s only 10 so far?

You don’t have an eSIM as well? Just wondering gown you transfer when you have to hand back your 12.
