Ahhh I'm using a wired macbook back up so its just showing restore in progress

I'm starting to wonder if I should have done that myself, at least assuming there's some way to tell the Finder to store a device backup somewhere that isn't my mostly full SSD, though not sure if there's something in the Console that'll give you an idea about its progress. Do you at least have some kind of progress indicator?

aren't the models different for 5G in the USA and some different regions?

I think you just need the AT&T model and not Verizon (maybe TMobile ones are ok too).

You can change it if you dont want it on the bottom, personally I use Chrome over Safari

Also how did you go about doing the eSIM transfer as I’ve read that have to have old phone still powered up for the text transfer, this is on EE.

An eSIM swap is relatively straightforward with EE. You just need to run the EE app on your old phone select replace eSIM and scan the QR code with your new iPhone. Then it sends a text for verification and the eSIM will then be activated on your new phone.

I was just on the phone to AppleCare to cancel my previous phones cover. The agent said they were receiving lots of calls because people cannot take up AppleCare on device, there is a problem with their system right now, seems you can do it over the phone. It took me 40 minutes to get through to them though.
