The max model seems to be out of stock everywhere in and around London. I literally just bought the normal Pro online on the Friday 24th and went to pick it up in the evening.

I need a man bag. I don't like putting the phone into my pocket - it comes out with dust and lint on the case which I have to wipe away instantly!! lol

Looking for a decent bag though - not a sports one. Ive seen a nice BOSS one I may go for....... lol

I've got a manbag of sorts; a canvas messenger-style thing from Amazon, which is just too small for A4 paper (which is annoying) and thus just too small for anything larger than the Mini, really. But given that you'd be throwing other stuff in there - keys, pens, whatever - you'd still need a good case and screen cover!

Got my 13 Pro Max yesterday and set it all up from an iCloud backup of my 11 Pro Max.

Liking the new design and colour (Sierra Blue) of the 13 Pro Max.

Display is a bit better due to Promotion and is a touch sharper.

Speakers are noticeably louder and fuller in the midrange. Very surprising difference. Could be due to my 11 Pro Max battery health degrading a fair bit?

Battery life improvement too hard to say yet. Surely has to be a decent improvement but can’t say I’ve felt it. I assume the phone is doing indexing, etc so will give a few days.

Cameras - Compared to the 11 pro max hardware wise it should be a whitewash but it’s not? Literally tested both side by side and didn’t see much improvement. The 11 Pro Max actually won in a near pitch black room somehow (both using main cameras, night mode on 10s exposure)
The macro is nice and telephoto I do notice the extra zoom.

As for 5G, in the area where I live it’s actually slower than 4G.

The base storage is a nice help being double that which I had previously.

Overall expected a bit more and really unsure why the main camera doesn’t appear to be an improvement. Hoping a software update puts that right, or maybe there’s something odd going on with mine.
Will be keeping it as already agreed to sell the 11 Pro Max to a friend.

Totally agree with you. Not a fan of clear cases myself. Makes £1000 device looks tacky lol.

I bought the apple clear silicon case for my 11 pro max, insta-regret ..... so much crud gets trapped in it, and completely visible.

The battery just isn't up to par with everyone else. I'm getting 8 hours of screen on time with really light usage (browsing, social media etc). I'm also getting weird stuff like... Reminders makes up 18% of my battery power usage in the last 24 hours according to the battery data.. for 1 MINUTE of screen on time. That's with 7h 26m screen on time in the last 24 hours.

Clean install here too. And no issue with 'Unlock With Apple Watch'

I did a clean install and I DO have the Watch unlock problem until the fix comes and I can live with occasionally entering my PIN for contactless payment. I think I made a balls of the Watch un/re-pairing & did that from scratch too, but never mind - don't think there's anything missing.

Unfortunately we don't have any real Apple Stores over here in Ireland. Though, I am flying to London on Saturday. Hmm... better to cancel the postal replacement and go to a London store?

Not sure if this has already been posted by anyone else who tried it as I've not kept up with the thread for the past week, but I thought this might be useful for anyone trying to use MusicMagpie's Smart Kiosks next year.
I completed my order with them on the 8th Sept (for a price I'd saved on the 7th before the announcement date was released, so they seem to retain the saved price as the price through to when you complete as checking the price on the 8th it had already dropped).
With an order date of the 8th, even if the 8th were day 1, 21 days to get to them would have seen me through to today (28th), however when i went to my local kiosk on Sunday (26th) i was told by the machine that they were offering me a reduced price (£160 less!) as i was over 21 days from the order (even though there's no way the 26th was 21 days from the 8th). Contacting their customer support returned a message that it must reach their warehouse within 21 days. i did try to ask them to confirm the last date i could have got it to the kiosk to meet that 21 window (on the 8th when i placed the order), but they of course skirted round that. So they must add an unknown number of days (at least 3) from arriving at the kiosk to get to the warehouse.
Id taken this approach as i had hoped it would mean i could get the pre announcement price without any gap from having to send the 12 off early. Next year i might try and save the pre announcement price, for part of the 14 days they save that offer and complete the order later and see if that price sticks, then use the kiosk say 15 days or whatever from that (once the new phone arrives and ive made sure all transfers over ok etc).
A bit annoying that they don't state a defined time to kiosk window, but i know i was trying to push it for my own benefit. Hoping eBay have another reduced fees weekend soon, then it'll go on there and hopefully get me more than the MM offer anyway.

I had a few offers locked in mm when I went to one of my accounts on the 20th sept it showed my 12 pro max 128gb in my saved items price £705, so I clicked carry on sale whatever it said and next thing it sent me a pack and send email and locked it in for another 21 days, which I didn’t think was possible anyway I sent it of yesterday see what happens

Interestingly I had no issues setting up this with mine. Difference I think was that I did a clean install and not from backup or phone to phone transfer.
