Argo trade-in update...

Posted phone to them Saturday using special delivery. Email received this morning saying they have inspected the phone and they will pay the quoted value (£601 for 12 Pro 128 which was way higher than anyone else was offering at the time).

So, looking promising. will update when the funds are actually in my account!

Mine was sent off to them on Friday, received yesterday morning and I still haven’t heard anything yet.

It’s a known bug. Apple will be issuing an update to address it.

Oh God, I'm the same... it's not even a phase if last year is anything to go by! I'm on my 5th Apple Silicone case in just over a week, my brain is like "it's only 50 quid, I can manage that (although I agree it's expensive!) but I don't seem to register that the little pile I've developed is now £250 worth...

I am a regular case swapper so I've no fear they'll get their use, I think I've fallen in love with the way the Blue Abyss looks with my graphite so I should be done for now... ...or at least for this season of cases.... but ... I think I want the blue abyss sport strap for my watch as well...

iPhone 12 packaged up and sent to Argos via Special Delivery. They just stuck the new postage label over the top of the tracked24 label but the barcode on the bottom was still visible for them to scan. Hoping to be £494 richer soon!

I’m the same I was happy with my clear skyfall caseology case but the silver iPhone wasn’t my first choice and might return it and go for gold again or just get the leather apple case and cover it up

Waiting for my Magsafe charger to arrive (from Amazon where its cheaper) along with a heavy base for it to fit in to. I bet I only use it a few times then give it to the wife or kids once the novelty wears off! lol

It is a worry, although it's been delivered as per the Royal Mail tracking, I'd still like to know they have it and they know it's my phone.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with clear cases - the only positive I can see is that they allow you to see the colour of your phone but other than that, most end up going yellow over the course of a year and they are ALL fingerprint magnets.

Totally agree with you. Not a fan of clear cases myself. Makes £1000 device looks tacky lol.

Exactly my thoughts. If I’m paying over £1k for a phone I want a quality case for it. That’s why I always get an Apple silicone case. But each to their own.

The good thing about Apple care is that, if you drop your phone and smash it, you can get a replacement delivered the next day. They will of course put a hold on your CC until they receive the broken phone. Not sure if other forms of insurance do this.

Subject to an excess payment as well of course.....its not a completely free swap....

Me and im happy with it for my needs. Plus I look after my battery and dont let it run below 35% and dont charge above 80%.

I'm in the same boat, and unfortunately I don't think it is an overpayment.

If you calculated the loan amount, less the payments I'd made up until the 24th, the loan pay off should have been an additional £60ish, as I'd only made 10 payments on the 24th. However it was actually calculated based on the fact I had made the required 11 payments to upgrade as they knew a payment was in process (as it has to be initiated several days before the actual payment date). I think they tried to make this clear as my email from Barclays clearly stated that the loan was paid off subject to any direct debits being recalled by my bank (ie that magic 11th payment).

Ok yes sounds right if you still were due to make that 11th payment.

I’d recommend you selling your phone privately and then paying off Barclays directly. You can start a new iup just as you have done but get the advantage of keeping any profit and also claiming remaining AppleCare back

over the years I have bought at least 20 glass screen protectors off amazon. The latest one I got attracts so much dust on the surface (this is after 1 hour). See photo. Seems I get one of these every couple of years. Any one know the reason why? Is it a difervent coating on the protectors that does this?

I’ve bought plenty £2 ones that never did this !

I’ve just sent my 12 pro to Argos. Special delivery and as being said they stick the new tracking number over the top half of the sticker that you received.
It’s pricey (~ £7) but worth the peace of mind and the extra coverage in case it is lost
