Curiosity got the better of me so I popped into the app for a look-see.

£50 cheaper than last year for the stainless steel 41mm is good to see. £180 trade-in against my Series 6 stainless steel is poor, considering Apple offered me £180 last year for my Series 5 aluminium cellular and £120 for my wife's Series 4 aluminium non-cellular. £240 from Music Magpie for my Series 6.

Availability to collect or have delivered for the 15th next week.

Will hang on to my Series 6 for another year, when the Series 8 will potentially feature a processor bump, a new sensor, and also the larger display etc.

I’ve ordered a cellular Nike model for delivery next Friday. Was considering stainless steel but not sure I could justify the extra cost and buying the Nike model gives me a different strap which I don’t already have. The choice was limited for models actually available on launch day

I wanted to order a 45mm silver titanium with a sport band but it was only available with dreary coloured braided loops, and then only a month from now.

Settled for a 45mm silver Stainless Steel for pick up next Friday.

If I was upgrading my 44mm S4 Space Black Stainless Steel, this would be my choice :

Unfortunately, there is no way I am justifying paying £649 for just a 1mm bigger screen and an always on display on the S7......

I hear you Dino but what you choose to ignore is that the S7 Stainless Steel with sport band or loop is £100 cheaper than the S5 I bought 2 years ago (and indeed the S4 that I bought the previous year). That’s what I call a bargain! 😉 😂

he's still bought one.

how he failed earlier this year (and his rumours prompted me to sell my mbp prior to WWDC) has left me pretty much not relying on hime a huge amount for anything apart from gossip to pass the time!

he's gone all in with the iPhone 14 'leaks' so this will make or break him.

That is a very valid point actually - just looked back through my emails and noticed that I paid £749 for my S4 44mm Space Black SS Watch so I guess a saving of £100 if I was to purchase today's S7 watch (I'm still not gonna!!) !!!!

the point is though that if the display is indeed 20% bigger, its literally the edge perimeter which is the 20% extra - so the part you don't really look at when you look at the watch face head on!!! Its no wonder they're saying its not noticeable!!!!

Why are the trade ins for the watches so bad....??!

I'm half temped to now just buy aluminium models to minimise the depreciation! especially if I'm charing frequently..

if not, I'll be holding on to the S5 until a significant upgrade/redesign is out.

just looked back at the emailed and I paid £899 for the 44mm Space black titanium edition 2 year ago!.. only getting £145 from MM and £125 from apple!

will have to see what ebayers are getting for it

Comparing s6 to s7, it's exactly the same. Was so close to pre-ordering. Will hold out for s8 or s9.

Actually I considered the same but decided that I needed the sapphire crystal. The number of times that I’ve knocked mine and thought it must be broken… but nothing. Not even a scratch, let alone a crack. Good as new!

Main reason I upgraded was for the SS model. Plus my mums series 2 is on the way out so she will be happy with the series 6 for sure
