How many of you here have used Smart Kiosk?

Thinking of using it for my partner's 12 pro 256GB (locked in at £555.00) on Sunday but im in two minds.

Once the money is paid is the order classed as complete or do we have to wait for MM to get the iPhone.

If that's the case ill just post it.
It’s all done and dusted at the SMARTDrop kiosk.

More renders for the pro watch

After a couple of failed years attempting to sell to MM (offer expiring and then a new one being too low, and last years debacle with the smart kiosk wanting to re-quote me, not sure what went on, maybe user error, but i'd say that's a flawed user experience if so). Both times i ended up selling on eBay when they had one of their reduced fees events and made more money anyway, so can't complain.

This year I thought I'd try the add to basket and re-save someone on here seemingly had success with last year. So far so good. Saved a quote of £790 for a 512 13PM 14 days ago (£780 + the £10 voucher available at the time). Added to my basket just now, removed the £10 and added Upgrade22 instead and the re-saved rather than moving to checkout and I now have a newly saved quote for a total of £800 for another 14 days from today. My hope is to get the new phone on the 16th (if that's the release date) migrate everything and then send off my 13PM to MM with the full 7 days still to get to them, a decent pre-announcement quote and no need for a burner phone.

That's the plan anyway......
You’ll have stacks of time. As I’m sure you know, once you go to the checkout with your £800 saved valuation, you’ll be given another 21 days to get the phone to them.

Ooh no i didn't realise it was 21 days after the checkout. Maybe i should have got the original quote even earlier 😂 . ah well one for next year 👍

Does anyone understand why the side of it sticks out? I don’t understand the design function of that
Is it there to protect the crown if this is supposed to be an ultra durable version? Then again, if you were to need that sort of protection from what would need to be a fairly hefty impact to damage a normal AW crown, so close to your wrist, I'd personally be questioning the activity i was doing.

remember when apple surprised us with the launch of the m1 14/16" MBPs last year and they became available to order straight after the event!

not that apple would chance tact for the iPhone.... that wouldn't be very apple-like... would it?.... apple?

EE website was down for maintenance last night ...

The non pro does look like it will be the same as the S7 with some new sensors I assume. I’ve gone all in early this year and sold my S5 on eBay last month.. a new watch will be ordered come Friday
I think I’ve missed the boat on selling the S4

I wonder if they would do this for the watch or AirPods? Might take pressure off their ordering system if the phone pre-orders start on Friday.

That's interesting to know. Do you think the release would be the next day? Then again you'd think they'd make the changes to the Dev part of the site before hitting production. Could just be usual maintenance.

EE takes their web site down all the time. Don't read to much into it.

(Of course they are busy preparing though even if they can't admit it)

a bit like last year, I think we all by now know pretty much all that we're expecting tomorrow. I can't see any surprises or 'one last thing' moments.

what I guess doesn't get as easily leaked (compared to hardware leaks) is what apple might do with iOS with the new hardware. I think back to cinematic mode, enhancements to photography, night mode, any AR related changes.. those will be the key bits I'll be looking out for...

... and what shade of purple it is!

...yea, read that earlier on the BBC but the forum wouldn't allow me to post the link (was being moderated - maybe cos I am a newbie!).

On the bbc article it has this image, I can’t see the red dot anywhere, do they mean the orange corner on the text bubble?
