It’s weird because I very rarely use the forums except for this thread! I actually look forward to seeing the usual names here. Dino and Azzin letting the team down this time!

But I like this time of year and all the trials and tribulations it brings!!

I swear I saw azzin post during the madness of pre order?!

Gave up with the preorder in the end and took out a new contract from sim only on O2. Works out about £15 more per month than Barclays did but Ive got the “upgrade anytime” thing now so I will just do that through O2 next year. Got the generic “out of stock” email once ordering so expecting mid-October at the earliest.

Really disappointed with how it played out despite being pre-approved and ready to go at 13:01 today. Won’t be ordering direct through Apple again (unless I have a lump sum of cash ready to go)

Damn just ordered now. Pre order date is 10-16th October.
Does anyone know if the date was pushed back earlier last year?
Thanks

No one can say for sure. There’s been history of data shifting but no guarantee it happens again. Apple hitting earlier in the 10-16th window might be more likely

My experience would have said you’re more likely to get it sooner than it pushing out longer. Once the first batch of release day pre orders ship, the last few years have seen the next lot start moving pretty quickly. I’m sure a lot starting seeing PFS on the Saturday and deliveries the following week. Can only hope apple do their magic
My 12 pro order was in the second batch and date crept forward. Went to PFS as soon as the launch date phones dispatched. Hope this happens this time.

I just noticed something, I reserved my iUP today and my reservation says I will be paying £66.45 a month but on the website the same configuration device costs £58.85 a month. Anyone got any ideas? I know I've got Applecare+ Theft but that is only an extra £3 a month.

EDIT: Weird, if I access the same iUP website via the Apple Store app on my phone it shows £66.45 (Which is the price i expected). I am definitely on the UK website on my computer so they must've put the wrong prices on or something.

Anyone know if we can cancel a pre-order? Can't see an option for it

Most if not all have now moved to preparing for shipment. You can’t make changes at this point. Maybe contacting apple to see options apart from returning when it’s delivered.

So, I have a few questions if anyone knows the answers at all:

1. Do Apple stores install screen protectors?

2. How much is it? Is it worth it?

3. How do I book/arrange it? Can it be done online or do you just pop into store?

Many thanks in advance if anyone can answer these.
They do install them and the Belkin protectors are nice, though I remember a few years ago they had some durability issues, but they may well have been resolved by now. But I’d say it’s not worth the money. Getting a “pro“ to install a screen protector back in the day when they were just flappy bits of film with no alignment tools etc, I can see would be tempting and often worth the money. But with many current protectors offering guide frames and adhesives seemingly being much more forgiving, I don’t think any people would benefit now, and you may as well save some money and do it yourself. Also I wouldn’t class Apple store employees as always being ”pros”. Last time I used belkin and had Apple install it, the assistant installed a standard 6 protector on my brand new 6+. I was honestly embarrassed for them! Ok so they took it off and got the right one on, and nicely, but just shows they are blindly using a tool rather than it being any form of talent.

Give it a go yourself!

So I’ve just checked Apple.come and the configuration I ordered: 14 Pro, Space Black can still be delivered to store on the 16th; I wonder if that’s any indication of demand or oversupply, since I know this slipped fast last year.
