I just noticed something, I reserved my iUP today and my reservation says I will be paying £66.45 a month but on the website the same configuration device costs £58.85 a month. Anyone got any ideas? I know I've got Applecare+ Theft but that is only an extra £3 a month.

EDIT: Weird, if I access the same iUP website via the Apple Store app on my phone it shows £66.45 (Which is the price i expected). I am definitely on the UK website on my computer so they must've put the wrong prices on or something.

That last screenshot looks wrong.

(1199 + 199 -69)/20= 66.45

Which lines up with the material on the app

They do install them and the Belkin protectors are nice, though I remember a few years ago they had some durability issues, but they may well have been resolved by now. But I’d say it’s not worth the money. Getting a “pro“ to install a screen protector back in the day when they were just flappy bits of film with no alignment tools etc, I can see would be tempting and often worth the money. But with many current protectors offering guide frames and adhesives seemingly being much more forgiving, I don’t think any people would benefit now, and you may as well save some money and do it yourself. Also I wouldn’t class Apple store employees as always being ”pros”. Last time I used belkin and had Apple install it, the assistant installed a standard 6 protector on my brand new 6+. I was honestly embarrassed for them! Ok so they took it off and got the right one on, and nicely, but just shows they are blindly using a tool rather than it being any form of talent.

Give it a go yourself!

The only good thing I found with apple installing them in store was that if there was an issue, they don’t fuss and replace.

Yeah agreed, the £66.45 makes heaps more sense since it's just a little bit more than what I'm paying now, just very odd how when I open the iUP website on safari rather than the apple store app it shows a completely different amount

Probably a miss from their content team.

So I’ve just checked Apple.come and the configuration I ordered: 14 Pro, Space Black can still be delivered to store on the 16th; I wonder if that’s any indication of demand or oversupply, since I know this slipped fast last year.
None of my local stores have pickups available.

Same for me. I had to go delivery and it's Oct 3rd - Oct 10th, although I think new pre-orders are past even those dates.

The next time any store stock will probably show up will be from 6am on sat 17th. The. Potentially having to check from 6am each day until you hit the restock jackpot

By far the worst pre-order experience for me 🙈 I now have my order still not confirmed 😭 anyone else have this?
I had that for hours. Absolute joke of a pre order day this year. Red phone number issue. Trade in not working. Had to have another credit check and re-do finance after being pre approved. Been pre ordering online ever since that started and prior t that queuing all night at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. This is by far the worst launch Apple have ever done.

Spent hours trying to get through on the phone to them and using the text message service. To be told “fingers crossed, it’s all with Barclays now”.

It wasn’t Barclays that failed. It was your app Apple.

Sorry if I'm being dumb here, but if a store did have stock would you order a new phone and cancel the original one?

The £58.45 was the price for the 128GB iPhone 13 Pro Max on iUP last year. It seems to be showing last year's prices on that one page with the wrong amounts.

There's no love for the regular 14's... Every single model/colour is still available... 😂 Guess that what happens when you use last years A15 chip... feels like the 5C over again.

Don't know if anybody else has mentioned this yet, but John Lewis will be taking orders online for the new phones from the 15th Thursday next week. Might be a typo, but if not that means online order for next day delivery/store collection, on top of in-store purchase on the 16th.

Series 8 Watches also available from the 15th on their website/app.

Has anyone got the Ink leather case? Is it a purple colour?
Someone posted photos in the USA thread--sorry, I have no idea where that post is in all that madness. Buuuuuut the person showed photos and said that he got midnight and ink: Midnight looked more black inside and outside (with just a tinge of blue outside) and the ink looked bluish-purple or purple-ish blue. Don't know if that helps, but jic.

Wow, just saw @HalfPintOfInnes totally has your back. Nice.

But then you’ll have your phone, you’ll have unboxed it, set it up and the novelty factor would have worn off as you realised it does the same thing your previous 5 phone have

Let’s enjoy the next week, talk of cases and screen protectors, iOS 16 dropping, embargos lifting on reviews, more anxiety on if you did make the right choice on colour as you see more reviews and to then finally see those dispatch notifications come through next Thursday afternoon.
There’s nothing else like this time
You know I've been thinking about that a lot the past 24 hours. All those people who clamor we should spend money not on material things but life experiences. They roll their eyes at us who go gaga over iPhones--but look at us: we're getting material things AND life experiences.

Hope all of you have a fabulous time this week and that it culminates with an awesome gadget at the end!

I agree.

I can't remember whether it was the XS Max or 11 Pro Max year, but the Belkin protectors in that era had a very pronounced edge that I would always catch my finger on. Not rounded or smoothed off.

The staff member was aggressively trying to get my brand new phone to fit in the Belkin supplied application machine. Worth bearing in mind many of the staff for the initial launch period are temps brought in - mine shared it was their first day!

Get a pack of 3x ESR or Spigen and you've got a couple of chances of getting it right before you even get close to the circa £30 Apple charges for the Belkin fitted protectors.
