Has anyone seen any decent ultra thin cases for iPhone 14 Pro ?
I've been using the Pitaka case for a couple of years (MagEZ version). It doesn't add any bulk to the phone as it's ultra thin and only 20g. My phone still looks immaculate and I really didn't want to add any extra bulk to the pro max. Unfortunately for this thin and light case, you are paying £59... but for me it's worth it.

I tried to sort myself out this morning with an eSIM, converting from a psychical one with EE.

I tried following a guide I found online via the MyEE app but it wouldn't activate for some reason, so EE are going to send me a QR code through the post - why not email?!

Does anyone have any tips or tricks if you've also converted on EE or using the MyEE app?
They're old school, i decided to stay with my physical Sim. I just find it easier as i spend time between the UK and the US due to my partner so switch out sims all the time. Only stinger is her 14 pro max we had to order in the states so esim only

I’ve actually downsized as I’m fed up of the huge footprint of the max phone! And I have big hands too

This is one issue where everyone is so different. I went the other way a couple of years ago, Pro to Pro Max, and could now never imagine going back down in size and have really tiny hands. My moment of revelation was regarding the much discussed one-handed use. When I realised that with my small hands I already had to use a Pro two-handed I thought "well, if I already use my phone two-handed most of the time why not also get the benefit of a bigger screen".

I do of course realise that others like you have had a completely different journey and have ended up at a different place as far as determining their preferred size is concerned but I think that both of our stories show that the idea that small hands equates to a preference for a Pro and big hands equates to a preference for a Pro Max is by no means a given.

My tip would be to stay away from UK E-sim's unless you need to go to dual sim. If you want to do e-sim on your main number, then do it after you've upgraded the phone and everything is settled down. I do dual sim where my work O2 account is the e-sim and Vodafone is the physical sim.

The reason for my comment is that the US carriers are much more integrated into the iOS software. You can transfer an e-sim between phones in the US as part of the upgrade process when you set up your new phone (at least with the main carriers). This just doesn't work with UK carriers as far as I know. You need to manually request the e-sim swap with Vodafone or O2 and it's hit and miss as to whether it works smoothly (particularly on Vodafone).

I somehow lost the Vodafone e-sim in my apple watch a few weeks ago and needed to do a sim swap request on their website to add it back to the same watch. This took 6 days, four attempts & many hours of online chats. During one attempt, the agent accidentally started an e-sim transfer on my main number rather than the watch number. When it works, it's great, when it doesn't, it's just terrible.

I prefer the collection windows rather than queueing and they give you a piece of card with the model you want on it.

There was some level of excitement with the queuing / going to the store but as you are in and out in minutes these days I don't see the point. Just get it delivered to my house or work (which are essentially same places most of the time these days).

Does anyone know if John Lewis will offer 0% finance on the iPhone 14's?
Thery don't offer it on other iPhones so unlikely but you can pay JL purchases by PayPal but that would likely only be 4 months 0% which would be pretty chunky monthly payments unless planning to They'll do longer on PP Credit but it won't be 0%.

I normally do delivery so this be first time collecting so will just pop out of work for my slot

Yeah I normally do. Well I have for the last few years as a lot easier but last year I had a nightmare with DHL so decided that I could go before work and get the store and back out again. If I couldn’t get 8.15 it would have been lunch time.

Why does it work better than the Apple battery pack? I've been debating getting one for a while and recently found out about this Anker one, looks a lot bigger/bulkier than the apple one in images
1)The anker one is 5000mAh .. the apple one is less (I think it said about 3000?) ..
2) The anker one has the little stand thing which folds out which makes watching things good (I don’t use it much but it adds next to nothing onto the size of it.
3) The anker one weighs 146g and the apple one weighs 115g
4) Measurements Anker - 10.5cm length 6.5cm width 1.3cm Apple - 9.5cm length 6.5cm wide 1.2cm depth
5) Anker one is half the price!!

I've finally managed to bag myself a 14 Pro for Friday 16th!

I had an absolue nightmare on the 9th trying to checkout my pre pre order that was financed by the pre authorised barclays finance. I was getting constant errors via the app and in the end I had to give up as I just didn't have time anymore to keep trying due to work.
Later on in the day I managed to get on again but by this time the shipping dates had slipped massively so I didn't bother and thought I'll just stick with my current phone for another year.
Today I found that Curry's still have stock available for the 16th (which is where I got my 13pro from last year) so I've now got a Gold 14 pro coming on Friday.

I've also ordered the AiPods Pro for delivery on the 23rd.

Congratulations. I'm happy for you.

At time of writing this reply Curry's web site search results for the iPhone Pro (which also includes Pro Max) results is very interesting in terms of what models are even now still available for Sep 16th delivery. It seems to be very colour dependent with Silver and Gold Pros still showing availability across all storage capacities but if you want a Pro in another colour then forget it and if you want a Max in any colour at any storage capacity then they are all unavailable.

I suppose one should be careful inferring relative popularities from the above, it could of course be that Curry's got its stocking profile wrong vs demand for the various colours, or that the stock is more limited for the Pro Max models and/or for certain colours, but I was interested to see those Silver & Gold Pros still available. As a point of comparison I just checked on the Apple UK store and a 256GB black 14 Pro Max (the only one I looked at just now) is showing an estimated delivery window of 18th - 25th October with no pickups available at my 12 nearest stores.

They were good times and I agree with getting delivery but DHL were awful last year. Said they were on their way then said it was being returned to depot with no delivery slot. Then it said out for delivery again and then returned to depot. Spoke to Apple who spoke to DHL and they said they have no idea where it is. They eventually tracked it down and Apple approved that I could collect from depot. So with the opportunity to collect I thought I’d take it

Does anyone have photos of the leather Ink case?
Trying to decided between it and the Forest Green.
I have the Midnight in silicone and want to get a leather case in a different colour.

Every reseller I can find has no 14 Pro Max’s in stock. I have to say I’m very concerned what next week will hold for me and others who purchased through said resellers.

That was a bad experience, hopefully it all goes much better this year.
I am still surprised the ordering process wasn't great this time, after many years of high demand I was sure they would have figured it out this time.

Ahh that makes sense. I didn't upgrade last year so missed that drama! I've ordered 3 PM's on separate orders and can well imagine them being delivered at different times on Friday. I wouldn't want the faff of going to the DHL depot on the outskirts of Edinburgh - the Apple Store would be easier but traffic in Edinburgh city centre puts me off these day. If I had known this I maybe would have gone for store pick up and maybe taken the day off. It's likely I will take the returns there so I know it is safely back in Apple's hands.

Fingers crossed I get DPD they know my house well!

I think they've just been educated by the only person in there who knew what I was talking about.

They were about to do it as a SIM swap until I asked if that would disconnect my current phone, they said yes but that's fine just scan the QR code with the new phone straight away.

I explained that the iPhone 14pm isn't out until Friday and they seemed surprised.
You may get a service quality survey: you should rate them appropriately

Is yours 002 or 02 number. I got both my 02 numbers via chat but still cant track them.
The email confirmation for my iPhone order started with 002, but I didn't receive an email for the Watch order. I contacted EE via chat, they gave me both order numbers, the iPhone order number was different to the one in the email. Either order numbers track via the order tracking page, but the one in my email does. They both started 02 the ones from EE chat.

I did call EE this afternoon, got straight through, both orders are confirmed. He said I don't need to worry.

I just had a similar issue, it wouldn’t let me download it for some reason.
Did a soft reset on my iPhone and then downloaded fine, activated it and was all good to go!
