Why's everyone trying to move to eSim? We don't have to this year anyway do we? What's the deal?

To be honest I can’t be bothered transferring my physical SIM but to a new phone even if it is once a year. Plus I guess an eSIM is more secure then a physical sim if the phone gets lost or stolen. I don’t really need or am going to get a second number. We may end up with eSIM only iPhones next year like the US anyway.

So, I am still undecided on the size, P or PM, and colour, all four bar gold. I am set on the capacity, 256GB. I haven’t pre ordered because of this.

What are my options for Friday? Presumably the Apple Store will be packed. I would like to pay a visit and check them out, and hopefully make up my mind. But it will be either in the afternoon or early evening. Do you think they will have stock or will it sell super quick?

The Apple stores will have all sizes and colours for you to look at. Any stock they have that's not pre reserved will likely sell early in the morning.

Will do, the annoying thing is MM claim the service is Mon-Sun 07:00-22:00 (as long as the Asda is open those hours) on their website.

Oh right. I’ve seen these and other device drop off kiosks pop up in loads of supermarkets recently. It’s strange they have their own separate opening hours when it’s just a kiosk. It’s also pointless them being open past 5pm on Sundays.

I’m getting more and more tempted by the watch ultra. Even though I don’t do anything fitness related.

£850 is sooooooo much money though
I still regret dropping £699 on a cellular stainless steel S3 in 2017 (plus the metal milanese? strap). The non stainless steel felt too light and cheap and i exchanged a few til i got one that looked and felt right but I don't love the watch. I use the fitness functions when I sporadically exercise (or it rudely asks me if I am exercising when am just walking get somewhere) and for paying when I travel on pubic transport but that is mostly it. Oh handy for message notifications. I stopped wearing it everyday during the pandemic so need to be mindful to charge when am going out or into the office. I figure that the time to tell if i can live without is when it gives up the ghost!

And they definitely don't hold their value like the phones.

Sorry for probably the 78th repeated post but its about screen protectors and there's a thousand messages to dig through here!

currently have the ERS Armorite for the iPhone 13 pro

is this the exact same one that's currently on amazon for the 14pro?

there's 2 here but im not sure if there's any difference other than one says compatible with both the 13Pro and 14Pro

First link for just the '14 Pro'

Second link for '13Pro and 14Pro'

I've actually ordered the Watch S8 Aluminium 45mm with cellular, but I was thinking earlier today about changing for the Ultra. I've got the money, it's just answering if I really want to spend that much on a watch.

Sorry if already mentioned but this is pretty cool

I wouldn't have thought it would be too hard for the piggyback networks to get it working from their 'parent' network?

Three have been messing about for over a year and still don't offer it to their direct customers (outside a trial group) let alone their MVNOs. It will be years before all the various piggyback MVNOs are onboard, imo.

Unfortunately EE charge you every time you move SIM - so if you like moving your SIM between phones (as I do) it costs - physical SIM doesn't (obviously).......

As far as I’m aware EE doesn’t charge to transfer eSIMs between phones. There is no mention of it on their app or site or when changing from a physical to an eSIM when using the app to do it. There is no reason for them to charge. The only charge is if you request an eSIM by post.

I was there at 1pm. I'm presuming machine out of order or they don't actually work Sundays.

We'll see what happens when I go back tomorrow morning.

Reads to me like the second one is for the 13/13 Pro and the 14 non-Pro, which makes sense since all of these have the same display dimensions. I believe the 14 Pro has slightly thinner bezels.
