Looks like my payment from Amex was taken. Had a mini heart attack when I glanced at my watch and saw the amount at first!

Congratulations on completing it.
I'd love to get into running, have tried the couch to 5k several times before but never got on with it. I have they admiration for those that can run a distance.
Thanks! Honestly, I’d never properly ran and started back in April. Used the Nike Running Club half marathon programme and it got us to the finish line. Highly recommend!

Gives you a good reason to get an ultra too 😉

Any hope of Currys delivering on Thursday then? I notice the Pro was a longer wait but maybe people could get the 14 early?

Wouldn’t get your hopes up at all, not sure any companies have released the phone a day early in years.
Delivery companies will hold items until Friday for delivery under instruction of Apple. And brick and mortar shops will be doing the same.

They are a Three MVNO, they were pretty professional last time I used them. I get really good 5G speeds on Three (well, Smarty 100GB for £12). Fastest download was around 1.3Gbps.
Thanks!

Thats good news by the sounds of it and Three are pretty good in my area, left them for a cheaper deal via affordable mobiles (EE) quite sometime ago. May even sign back up to Three by affordable mobiles again. So its pretty much a toss up and around £500 cost saving over 2 years vs EE (my current provider).

I'll take a look at that app then.
The wife said I can have an ultra if I train for an iron man as that's what the Apple marketing said it was useful for.

Trying to get ahead of the game I guess!
Already on esim since last year, but with O2 you can only use the QR code once. So if you transferring to a temporary phone and then again to your new iPhone you need 2 Esim packs which is a right pain.

Why is there only 3 straps for the Ultra? Will other straps not fit it? I prefer a more dressy watch. Have ordered the Graphite SS series 8.

I’m getting more and more tempted by the watch ultra. Even though I don’t do anything fitness related.

£850 is sooooooo much money though
Do what I do every year get a buyers remorse one of eBay a month later never paid more than £500 for a SS 45 MM with Milanese strap and I’m sure it will be the same this year and will sell my series 7 ss 45mm

What is everyone doing for charging?

I've been using an old Qi charger overnight with a 10W Apple Power Brick for years but as my 12 Pro battery is down to 86% battery capacity after 2 years I have been doing some reading and found it might not be a good idea to leave a phone on charge overnight vs fast charging as and when necessary.

Been looking at maybe treating myself to an Anker Nano II 65W coupled with a Belkin Boostcharge Pro with MagSafe for the new phone...
I use a magsafe overnight and an old 5w cable/plug or a qi wireless charger on my smart when needing a top up. My 12 pro battery is down to 86% battery too. Find myself needing to top up charge during the day more now? Curious to see whether it’s worth changing charging style too.

Tried again and they just say it doesnt work when they add it. They said I need to create a code through their perks portal rather than the perks at work one.
Annoying as the sim only package they are offering me isn’t available online.
That's so weird. Maybe it's different for sim only instead of a plan with a phone (last year I signed up for a sim only via their website). But yeah this time I phoned and she just said to go on the perks at work site to generate a code which I then gave to her and then when we did the screen-share contract approval screens it was showing the 20% discount to be applied for 24 months.

Usually when I have problems I have found they are really helpful over twitter so that might be an option though at the moment they are super busy and taking days to reply. But might be worth reaching out on there if you don't manage to get a code from someone with access to EE perks.

Has anyone ordered from John Lewis previously? I’ve got an order from Apple (Barclays finance) but the delivery date is 18th - 25th October because I couldn’t complete my preorder due to the red phone number rubbish!

If I can get one for launch or just after from John Lewis I’m fine to pay upfront. The delayed delivery kinda screws the yearly upgrade with Barclays finance anyway cuz I’ll probs only make 10 payments before the 15 is out…..

So just wondering if anyone knows from previous launches what time they normally go on sale. Seems like the 15th from what the app says but have no idea what time and I reckon the 128Gb Space Black that I want will go quick.

Thanks in advance if anyone has any tips
the 18-25 is literally the week after release?

was there a window which was sooner? I can't remember if they went from 16th delivery to then 18-25th?

if so, historically, the 2nd back of deliveries have starting going PFS on launch day too, they then soon arrive after the following week. no idea if that will happen again, but there's hope!

They were good times and I agree with getting delivery but DHL were awful last year. Said they were on their way then said it was being returned to depot with no delivery slot. Then it said out for delivery again and then returned to depot. Spoke to Apple who spoke to DHL and they said they have no idea where it is. They eventually tracked it down and Apple approved that I could collect from depot. So with the opportunity to collect I thought I’d take it
jeez, I remember your pain from last year now you bought it up!

fingers crossed its a better experience this time around

You may get a service quality survey: you should rate them appropriately
haha, I wouldn't rate any tech sales rep above what we collectively learn and know on here!

many a time I've been in an apple store and having to tell their 'geniuses' about stuff they just weren't aware of!
