Got to say I never used to be a fan but I find EVRi/Hermes really reliable and usually the fastest for me. Always get the day after dispatch even when it arrives at local depot that day. Might be lucky with my courier though perhaps in your case it is more ASOS not getting their act together (as sometimes they mark as dispatch when it is still waiting to be collected).
I have to say I absolute hated Hermes/evri... they were the worst!... caught the driver signing for deliveries before he'd even attempt to post them.. had massive issues with them saying it was delivered, then showing proof as some random signature!

the next time, I got another item delivered notification when nothing had been... ran outside and then saw the guy... he had a can of beer in his hand and was being driven around by this missus!! kicked off and we had to be separated! 😂

complaints to both Hermes and the retailer led to sweet FA... from then refused to shop with a company that uses them..

then.. I moved a few years ago, only 10 mins away.. but now I have a different every driver and he's never been an issue, they've been pretty much perfect for every delivery I've had now and couldn't complain at all!

it really is hit and miss with them!

When I go to convert my EE Sim to eSIM it tells me it is unsuccessful and to contact EE.. it seems to work a little but seems to put my number down as 00000000000!

Can’t see why not I have bought on credit card and swapped to IUP that was several years ago think @Jinjin did it as well same year
@TopToffee yep, never had issues changing form purchase to IUP in the past... I'd just question if you really want to go on IUP... its literally no different to 24m 0% (financially) but it also heavily favours apple (people will just hand phone in to apple and lose out on a few hundred quid)

Hi all, new here. I have my first ever iPhone ordered, the 14 Pro in purple with a midnight leather case and S8 45mm watch, expecting them to arrive on Friday 16th.

Long time Android user and currently have a Note 10+ which I’ve now had just over 3 years. Looking forward to the change.
welcome to the bright side! and also to this thread, we'll be seeing you every year until infinity!

Loads of talk of esim on here. For those that use it, what would happen if you phone spontaneously breaks and is unusable? With a physical sim you could pop it into a spare phone while waiting to get the iPhone fixed but with esim how would this work? I’m all for adopting new technology and have been considering switching over to esim ever since it came out but the thing that always holds me back is flexibility in case of a broken phone (granted that doesn’t happen often but I wouldn’t want to be disconnected if it did)

Can I also add HSBC fraud checks are awful...why is my Apple preorder being flagged even though I’ve verified the payment with OTP. I mean what’s the point of verifying the payment in the first place if HSBC then just block the payment anyway? I’ve bought more high value things on the card with no issues before either.
systems are 'trained' differently, things like phones (and especially apple products) you'd see are more susceptible to fraud, and trigger and flag.

there was a case recently on the bcc about a lady who lost thousands after card stolen from locker in a gym... a spree in an apple store!

Would you mind explaining the process, I think I have it right but would like a confirmation.

I believe everything is done via the ee app on your new phone, but you need your old phone for the confirmation code they send you via text

If you upgrade to iOS 16 when you restore your backup it asks do you want to transfer your sim it also does this when you choose Add eSIM in Mobile Data in settings.

I bought a 128gb pro max on Barclays Finanice, for collection on Friday, can I swap this for a 256gb in store at all, and just pay the extra?
nope.

the option you'd have firstly is to see if they actually have stock of a 256gb you can have! if so, you'd just not take out the current approve finance and have to either take out a new agreement in store for your phone or pay in full etc.

Unfortunately EE charge you every time you move SIM - so if you like moving your SIM between phones (as I do) it costs - physical SIM doesn't (obviously).......

As far as I’m aware EE doesn’t charge to transfer eSIMs between phones. There is no mention of it on their app or site or when changing from a physical to an eSIM when using the app to do it. There is no reason for them to charge. The only charge is if you request an eSIM by post.

Indeed, when I did mine just now a new physical sim was £1.99 I believe, but it said eSim was free

Aaargh. I didn't know that you could do that. I have used MM a lot and like them. I checked the trade in price of my 13 Pro Max a day or two before the launch and it was great but then dropped I think by about £80 after the launch. If only I'd know that I could have locked in the price for 7 days and then, if I understand your post, had another 21 days after confirming to actually return it I would have done that. Still, at least I know for next year. No mail issues for me because I am within walking distance of a MM drop off box, a new feature since last year I think, so it makes MM even more attractive for me.

You can save your price for 14 days repeatedly from what we can tell and then when you confirm the order you have 21 days to send it.

After speaking with EE customer service in regards to transferring my physical sim to an eSIM, they said that I can get an eSIM from my local EE store, and activate it on my current iPhone straight away via Settings > Mobile Data > Add Data Plan.

Then once my iP14 Pro arrives I can then transfer that eSIM easily through Apple quick start on my new iPhone.

There is a video on this page explaining how to transfer to new phone…

You can also go in MyEE app and choose request a new sim then choose eSIM. It’s issued there and then and you add it as a data plan.

thats one thing i hate, they are all in Hinkley but won't hear a peep until thursday. They usually hit Apple Stores for people who are doing pickups around Wednesday
haha, if we had tracking from china to Hinckley, we'd all have ours on one big pallet and just the one flight to track :D

syncreon have it nailed down now, just wish I'd get DPD for the first time ever!

They need to receive and inspect by the 24th so they ideally need to receive a few days before.

Most people here have had same day inspections and confirmation of payout once received by MM.

I sent mine on Monday 5th and it has only just got to them (11th)

Watch out all, I am assuming they're sending these out en masse after the announcement of the new iPhone.

Edit: I am aware this is a scam text, just saying be careful! :)
I work in FS and there have been a huge amount of apple and apple pay scams recently.. I know our cyber divisions have been actively warning customers... they'll no doubt trick some poor soul into clicking at this time of year

Unfortunately EE charge you every time you move SIM - so if you like moving your SIM between phones (as I do) it costs - physical SIM doesn't (obviously).......
That is not true. Moving eSIM from iPhone to iPhone is free. Issuing a new eSIM from the My EE app is also free. It used to be 50p, but it is free now.

Yep, it’s usually really late on Thursday evening before your order status moves. We need to stay calm and carry on in the UK!
people who get DPD as their courier should start seeing DPD app notifications early on Thursday... seems to have been the case the last few years.

worth setting it up if you don't use already... you never know :D

Thanks for this!

I spoke to EE online earlier and he's sent me a QR code through the post to activate mine so I'll keep you updated!

Failing that - I'll pop in to the local store!

You only need the app and service as they send you a text message to activate. No need for a QR code in the post.

You don’t need to go to an EE store to do it. As long as you have the EE app you can just do it through that
Think I'll try an e-sim too this year. Will wait until I have the 14 up and running on a physical and then do a transfer.. don't want to get bogged down setting that up when I'll have bigger things (like how I'll set hime my new Lock Screen in ios16 😂)
