This has been explained several times now. EE support the iPhone eSIM transfer to another iPhone. You should be given the option to do so while setting up the new device from iOS. If that doesn't happen you can use the My EE app to issue a new eSIM.
anyone able to succinctly phrase the process for me and I can add to first post in FAQs!

You don’t need to go to an EE store to do it. As long as you have the EE app you can just do it through that
Yeah I am having issues with their new app which doesn’t allow me to order a replacement or activate one either… their new app is really bad, they told me many people are having issues with esims using it.

I'm sure I'm following the correct steps on mine, it just won't activate! I tried a second/third time after phone resets earlier and it wouldn't complete!
As above…
As far as I’m aware EE doesn’t charge to transfer eSIMs between phones. There is no mention of it on their app or site or when changing from a physical to an eSIM when using the app to do it. There is no reason for them to charge. The only charge is if you request an eSIM by post.
that’s correct £1.50 by post, free if collecting or doing it digitally via the app

What is everyone doing for charging?

I've been using an old Qi charger overnight with a 10W Apple Power Brick for years but as my 12 Pro battery is down to 86% battery capacity after 2 years I have been doing some reading and found it might not be a good idea to leave a phone on charge overnight vs fast charging as and when necessary.

Been looking at maybe treating myself to an Anker Nano II 65W coupled with a Belkin Boostcharge Pro with MagSafe for the new phone...
still have my welkin 3 in 1... though it was the original one not the newer one which supports watch faster charging...

I'm honestly not going to change it just for a faster watch charge, especially as its all over night when I sleep... I'm not going to... am i.....

For those who had issues with payment, how did you end up fixing it? I keep getting this message: Authorization failed. Please verify your card information or choose another card.

I tried with Halifax, had the message to approve on my app and didn't work, tried with Monzo, got the same message about approving on the app and still got the above message. Tried on Safari and Chrome.
@sparkie1984 called apple and did over the phone I think!

Is that the AirPods Pro 2. That’s quite early to charge 12 days ahead of delivery day but I guess if it’s the same order as the phone then it makes sense
maybe its a charge on dispatch from leaving China?! though we don't see that movement, they could be starting their journey to the UK now? :D

with my MBP last year, it took a good week for UPS to get it over to the UK

Why's everyone trying to move to eSim? We don't have to this year anyway do we? What's the deal?
something new to do to past the time.. I don't know why I'm going to do it, apart from jumping on the band wagon!

for a single sim user, I just stick in the card and never think about it again!

time to move with the times! 🤣

If you upgrade to iOS 16 when you restore your backup it asks do you want to transfer your sim it also does this when you choose Add eSIM in Mobile Data in settings.

Well that better than using the EE app

I had the exact same problem. I had to ring Halifax and be put through to the fraud/security team as it was explained Halifax had put a block on the transaction. (I thought this was the case as it also happened when I got my ps5). I was then put through a ten minute grilling till they were satisfied it was me and unblocked it. Went back into the apple app and tried again and went straight through.

P.S: Prepare for a literal ten minute q and a if you get the same guy I got. It was ridiculously excessive. when I had a similar block on my ps5 transaction I was asked about 5 questions and off the phone again within a few minutes.
Honestly hate it when this happens. It happens literally every year.

O2 e-sim shambles for me.

Visited an o2 store on Saturday to pick up an e-sim pack. Took a bit of explaining to store staff what I was after. Once that was sorted I was given a 4G esim pack and told to call customer services from home. Basically they just wanted me out the store.

Saturday morning via o2 chat I tried again. Explained I had a new phone on the way and wanted a 5G esim pack sent to me in the post. Success !

Then this afternoon. My 13 Pro changes to ‘No Service’ - they’ve cut me off.

So. Third interaction with o2 was a phone call to try and get my deactivated sim enabled again So I can use my phone this week. Told that was done. Still not working this evening so looks like another trip to an o2 store tomorrow.

O2 really don’t seem to be setup for this. And there is a lot of confusion from the staff.
Don’t surprise me at all have gone into o2 a few times for the most basic of things and they still don’t know what they’re doing.

Yeah but hopefully the process will be much easier and simpler across all carriers once it’s mandatory to use an iPhone.

My own carrier - Smarty - doesn’t support eSims, so I’m hoping that they sort themselves out over the next 12 months if, indeed, the iPhone 15 goes simless.

Little chance of that. Smarty is 3 and 3 can’t even get it working properly!!

I’m getting more and more tempted by the watch ultra. Even though I don’t do anything fitness related.

£850 is sooooooo much money though
it's still cheaper than what I paid for my S8 with leather band and AC!

if it wasn't for the size, I'd be in!

think I'll check it out in store once tihngs die down and see where apple go with it in the next few years...

I'm hoping for a change to the standard watch design... 10th year anniversary maybe?!

I hadn't thought about the networks that don't support it! Surely Apple wouldn't go SIMless until the majority of carriers (worldwide) support it?

I wouldn't have thought it would be too hard for the piggyback networks to get it working from their 'parent' network?

There are loads of MVNO networks in the US who don’t support it yet. Loads of customers of these networks are now unable to upgrade to iPhone 14 unless they move to the networks that do support it.

So, I am still undecided on the size, P or PM, and colour, all four bar gold. I am set on the capacity, 256GB. I haven’t pre ordered because of this.

What are my options for Friday? Presumably the Apple Store will be packed. I would like to pay a visit and check them out, and hopefully make up my mind. But it will be either in the afternoon or early evening. Do you think they will have stock or will it sell super quick?

Doubt you will be able to get by walking in late in the day.

To be honest I can’t be bothered transferring my physical SIM but to a new phone even if it is once a year. Plus I guess an eSIM is more secure then a physical sim if the phone gets lost or stolen. I don’t really need or am going to get a second number. We may end up with eSIM only iPhones next year like the US anyway.

Think it will be a few more years for the U.K. MVNOs don’t have eSIM yet and not does PAYG tariffs on any network.

Sorry for probably the 78th repeated post but its about screen protectors and there's a thousand messages to dig through here!

currently have the ERS Armorite for the iPhone 13 pro

is this the exact same one that's currently on amazon for the 14pro?

there's 2 here but im not sure if there's any difference other than one says compatible with both the 13Pro and 14Pro

First link for just the '14 Pro'

Second link for '13Pro and 14Pro'
this is the one I bought for the 14pro... turned up today!

Unfortunately EE charge you every time you move SIM - so if you like moving your SIM between phones (as I do) it costs - physical SIM doesn't (obviously).......

EE stopped charging for eSIM a few months ago according to the app.

Loads of talk of esim on here. For those that use it, what would happen if you phone spontaneously breaks and is unusable? With a physical sim you could pop it into a spare phone while waiting to get the iPhone fixed but with esim how would this work? I’m all for adopting new technology and have been considering switching over to esim ever since it came out but the thing that always holds me back is flexibility in case of a broken phone (granted that doesn’t happen often but I wouldn’t want to be disconnected if it did)

I don’t have a spare phone to begin with to put the physical SIM in. Plus I have Apple Care Plus so I wouldn’t be without a phone for long. Apple express ship you a new one and after you send your old one back. I presume if you have an Apple store nearby you can just go in there and swap it over too. I am guessing you then re download and add the sim to the new phone.
