Crikey! Tough thinking back.

Well I got the first iPhone at launch (iPhone 2G), prior to that I had the HTC phone I think, may have been a Nokia N95 actually.

Then I went to iPhone 3G > iPhone 3GS > iPhone 4 > iPhone 5 > iPhone 6 > iPhone 6S > iPhone 7. I only skipped the 5S, mainly as I knew it would take people a while to implement the big feature in software (TouchID).

Also I’d swap back to Android inbetween generations, so changed phone every 6 months.

Then I completely left Apple, after experiencing a high refresh phone the iPhone X and beyond was not an option for me.

Then came the iPhone 13 Pro 256Gb, so jumped on that at launch. Finally, high refresh rate screen. With my next being a iPhone 14 Pro Max 256Gb coming Friday.

Not been swapping back to Android now, as I really like FaceID and honestly as phones are so mature now isn’t as much fun swapping every 6 months. You just don’t feel like you’ve got something “new”.
Presumably there was a 4S in there too then? Wasn’t that the phone that introduced Siri?

It then forces me to add a whole new wallpaper any ideas?

Anyone ordered from Currys? They said that the expected delivery date is 16th but again has message depending on the stock. so fingers crossed....

If you scroll down there should be an option for iOS 16 at the bottom of the screen, as long as the phone is an iPhone 8 or newer.

Ah thanks I see that now. I’ve got a 13 Pro Max. I think I’m probably just going to wait until I get my 14 Pro Max before experiencing iOS 16.

Quick question. I pre ordered the pro max 512gb but my card hasn't been charged yet, is that normal? Estimated delivery date is 26th Sept - 3rd October. I thought they'd charge it as soon as I placed the order

What about your available balance? Has that gone down?

Ah yes. You are in 2nd/3rd batch. You won’t get charged until earliest backend of next week.

If you setup as new iPhone, do all the app data e.g. Whastapp that is backed up by iCloud get restored? I do want to do a fresh install this year
Depends on the app to be honest. You should be ok with Whatsapp but make sure to run a backup manually from with in the app as precaution. If the third party app has the ability to sync and restore from iCloud on individual basis you should be ok. All Apple native apps should be ok.

Ordered for in store pick up on Friday, money was only taken today, ordered a watch and case and the money was taken straight away, all for pick up on launch day

Any clarity on these 19th-21st September orders that went in expecting 16th? Are we expecting them to drop in to processing in the next few days?

Don’t think I could even contemplate starting from scratch. Just installing all the apps manually, creating all the home screens, focuses, biometrics across all the apps, notifications, etc…..

I'm thinking of setting up manually from scratch. I just need to check the info from a couple of apps will download.
If you go to iCloud and there's a green on button next to an app does that mean that that app is backed up to the cloud?

I'll have you know my postie is an anarchist. (I'm crossing fingers for Friday, may have to take an early trip into John Lewis though...)

Haha. If you are 19th-21st it’s highly unlikely for a Friday delivery.
