How is the nest Wi-Fi? I think I saw an article on the verge about a new version supporting Wi-Fi 6E coming out soon. I might buy it when released.
yes, looks like they'll support 6E in a new version: https://9to5google.com/2022/08/15/nest-wi-fi-6e-fcc/

I like them because:

  • super simple to use and set up
  • integrated into google home app
  • best looking (imo) they easily blend in to most room (compared to some which look like alien spacecraft!)
  • the satellites double up as home assistant speakers too!

I'd probably change to something else because:

  • not enough ethernet ports!
  • the simplified set up can take away being able to play with lower level settings

Off topic but what do we think the chances of a new MagSafe charger for iPad Pro‘s will be in Oct if they’re getting some wireless charging?

Will hold off ordering something if 4 in 1 chargers for iPad, phone, watch and pods start showing after its release! Might be a massive unit on second thoughts!

Do you not find the material gets quite greasy/dirty easily? I had one for my 12 Pro and while I liked the feel of it initially, I stoped using it as it always looked and felt a bit mucky. Maybe I just have greasy hands!
I've noticed they do sometimes pick up a bit of grease/oil etc but nothing that stood out to me. I wonder if the darker colours mask it a little? Always found a quick wipe soon gets it back to normal though!

Had nothing from Currys. They’ve taken the money straight away though.
Yep another order from Currys here an I'm not expecting anything until later tomorrow to be honest! I didn't order until Monday but at that point it was still showing delivery for the launch day....my order confirmation had the 19th but I assumed/hoped it would be Friday! My last order from Currys came with DPD which is who I hope they use for this!

I really like the Linksys Velop mesh system. Had them for years and my last upgrade was to the AX4200 nodes. They have plenty of ports, although didn’t look at 6E options mainly based on price (as I need 5 nodes) and I don’t have any devices that support 6E just yet.

Yes you can collect from your local store. Just choose store collection.

Online orders are delivered from warehouse even for store collection.
This reminds me of a bad experience I had with JL last year - order my 13PM for delivery to a local Co-op for collection (my nearest JL store is about 40 mins drive). Had a notification it was ready to collect having been delivered to store however the store couldn't find it. Seems it went 'missing' - more like somebody nabbed it for themselves . JL very apologetic and refunded promptly as you'd imagine, but just a word of caution if anybody is considering ordering to a local Co-op to collect.

EE need to get their s*** in order and train staff properly.

Even the executive team are bloody useless.

All the CS staff makes their own stories up about orders and nothing is universal.

If my phone doesn’t come by Friday I’m going to hound the CEO over email and let him know how much of a cluster f*** his business really is.

One minute the phones are delayed because the Queen died, one minute the phones are delayed because Apple hasn’t shipped any yet, one minute they’re getting sent 2nd Class, one minute the orders are on pause, who’s fault is it going to be next the Russian war? I’m sure I’ll ring 150 and someone will claim it’s delayed because of Putin.

Hey guys I’ve just received my Silicone midnight case for the iPhone 14 Pro Max, and I am impressed with the camera bump - it is huge!
I was one of the lucky to be able to secure an iPhone for launch day as I was on the app obsessively refreshing it from 13:00 haha
The order went through with no issues at 13:02 and at 16:10 my card was charged.
Very good experience with this year’s launch I must say! I am sorry for all those that experienced issues! However I was checking the Apple Store app and apparently they will have some stock available for same day pick-up as it currently says “check back in 16/09”
Cheers!

Just speaking to Currys/Carphone Warehouse on Twitter… this is what they’ve just told me

My recommendation based on previous years is to just avoid speaking to EE about your order. It'll just cause you unneccessary stress. Their staff just make up whatever they want because they need to get through as many calls / chats as possible. They don't know anything more about your order now than they did when you first placed it.

The best people to tell you if you're going to get your order on launch day is the DPD app - if you get tracking info tomorrow, you're good. If not, you're not.

This seems like EE and Currys have no idea.

Surly this is one of the most important launches they deal with all year so they should be going all out to make sure devices are confirmed for launch day.
