What model are you getting?

How close to launch should I be expecting Apple to let me choose a time and date for my iUP reservation? All I've got so far is the "It’s scheduled to arrive by Mon 19 Sep" email with a reservation number.
 
...there is little differences this year to previous years' pre-orders and deliveries - we have the same networks slated every single year because they have screwed up pre-orders/delivery times/don't know what they're talking about!!

CNET - They are pretty good, but the presenter is a bit slow/dull
iJustine - She is very biased and will make the dullest thing the best thing possible, in my opinion she isn't really someone's review you should consider when making a decision.
TheUnlockr - SOLID! He does a actual day usage with the device, but his review will come later
TheTechChap - Solid, informative and all round good to make decisions
MrWhoseTheBoss - SOLID, pretty much the same as TheTechChap and good to make decisions from.

If i have missed a few key ones then please do quotes so people can see the list as well.

I would add John Gruber - Daringfireball.net he has been covering Apple for an extremely long time and he usually always has a good take with none of the paid marketing hype that comes hand in hand with YouTubers

Any further info whether JL will open orders tomorrow for Friday or will they only be taking orders on Friday as per previous years?

Or just phone them up and ask someone to check your order. I did, no issues at all.
 
I was walking by an EE store on Monday morning and went in to ask about transferring eSIMs on the Apple Watch.
I was just curious to see what they would say. I was only person in the store so they were not in a rush, but had absolutely idea and said that’s a technical question you need to call EE.

I was just surprised there wasn’t more training around this as eSIMs have been around for years.

Hopefully this will change going forward and the stores can be more helpful.

A; sell to MM for £365 or

B; to CEX for £330?

Get the cash straight away from CEX it wait for MM? This for a 256gb 13 mini.

And they still do nothing about it do they.

It is really shocking they haven't learnt how to prepare.

Without starting an Apple VS Samsung debate this is probably the biggest phone launch they have all year round so they should know better and be more prepared.
 
15 minutes to go until we can devour reviews and (in some cases... maybe...?) freak out to the nth degree about colour / smugly gloat we chose right 😂

I assume you would have picked one when you did the reservation?!

Their app and website both now say available from the 16th, previously the app stated 15th. Looking like it will be Friday - 8am from recollection.

its what you get for a completely detached 1st line for sale and support... they have no real clue on the inner workings and just go off a script in most cases...

I'd not worry too much and try not ringing/tweeting the different just support teams... you'll just get conflicting replies and add to the anxiety! just trust in the order date provided and hope they follow through.

Nilay Patel at The Verge bingo card (if we're unfortunate enough to have him):

- "This is iPhone 14 Pro. It's an... iPhone" or similar
- Dynamic Island is a "dumb name" but actually "kind of neat"
- Mentioning how it's still not USB-C
- Android has had Always On Display for years
- Camera is good, some side by side shots of 14 Pro against a Pixel/Galaxy
- Unless you're on an iPhone 11(?) or older it's probably not worth an upgrade for how expensive it is

Feel free to add any to this list ahead of 2pm.

I'm one of life's worriers haha!! Hopefully I'll get a DPD notification tomorrow - I'm off on holiday from 5pm Friday so hopefully it'll all be fine for delivery before then!

Sure is. They have no clue and they should just say that, although your Karen’s wouldn’t appreciate that I guess.
