What model are you getting?

guess you've got nothing to lose when it goes into the machine.. you'll either get the price you were offered or you can get the phone back out of the machine (no not be taking a sledgehammer to it!)

I'd be inclined to use the kiosk next year if they enable the 14s to work on it early enough
Can you lock a price in 2 weeks or so early and then use the kiosk for that price, or do you only get the price on the day you surrender the phone?

What was the difference between the pre-announcement Apple price and the MM price for 13PM?

Unless the difference was over £50, not worth the stress IMO.

Their photographic evidence shows the serial number and IMEI number on the screen. They will not entertain an insurance claim, I asked repeatedly.m
I may have missed your response to my previous post so apologies but did you provide them with evidence of its condition prior to you sending it to them? If I were a company, I’m not sure I’d entertain that it was damaged in transit without proof of how it was sent to me?

But surely they wouldn’t entertain it as you had no proof of condition just before you sent it?
Based on their stance they would refute any photographic or video evidence - at least with ebay you might stand a chance if a buyer challenged you but as MM is the buyer they have all the power. This is a well-oiled machine on how to handle claims that are contrary to their "findings", some I imagine are spurious. Their word on its condition is absolute and final and it's either Accept Offer or Decline Offer. I know how to present my point calmly and eloquently but they just shut you down - to the extent the agent just Ended the Chat abruptly and said that was their position, end of.

Time to 'escalate' the issue. How can they categorically prove it wasn't damaged in transit - for the phone screen to be chipped and scratched would take either a very sharp pointed item damaging the parcel or it to be dropped without any protection to it. Doesn't add up and frankly, just because they don't deem it to be damaged in transit doesn't mean it wasn't - from a legal perspective.

If you did have photos/video of its condition prior to sending it, I’d be writing to their head office with that as evidence saying it was damaged in transit which is not your responsibility and not accepting the response of their live chat advisor who probably doesn’t care.

From what you mentioned earlier, it doesn’t seem like you took photos etc. like you would have done usually if you were selling on eBay etc. so you’re in a tough spot and I feel for you 😔

Agree lots of other companies do similar stuff. Because they offer Clearpay. FCA need to get involved

Refuse it, I’ve done before

My iPhone 12 Pro from Amazon came on release day with dispatch email around 9:30pm

If you login to EE app does it let you upgrade or does it say not eligible? Can you also track the order?

Email the CEO via LinkedIn.
The FCA can’t get involved as they aren’t doing anything wrong. Klarna are offering 0% finance, which is exactly what you get. Giffgaff have just inflated the price of the phone. There isn’t anything illegal happening. I’ve used Klarna and Clearpay a load of times and it hasn’t been at the expense of paying more for the item. Lots of reputable companies use both.

and the RRP is just that.. the recommended retail price, not the price they have to sell it at.

I can finally relax now as just got a despatch notification and tracking number from Very, they are using Royal Mail for delivery

Ordered from EE at 13:05, no communication since first order email that came immediately. No texts. No nothing.

Rang them today and they said order is all good and will come tomorrow, gave me the DPD tracking number which shows it’s been collected and is coming tomorrow.

Come to me iPhone 14 Pro Max 256gb in deep purple.

The issue is that he would need to provide evidence of its condition just prior to him sending it as without that I don’t think he can prove it was damaged in transit otherwise.
