Yes, it's difficult to predict. The time it 'left' Hinckley will be the time it was scanned onto the trailer, ready to go up to your local service centre. But that trailer might not leave for hours.
Ours generally start leaving in the early evening, around 6 or 7pm and I imagine it's the same with DPD.
Whoever is collecting their new shiny devices from Apple Store. Please do not do what our Aussie friends i.e Drop The iPhone lol.
I might pre order one just so they have another person to chat to.

New phone (14PM DP 1TB) arriving tomorrow. Unlike in previous years, it's DHL rather than DPD (which I've always had good experiences with). Fingers crossed...
Since the 6s and onwards, I've been upgrading every single year to the then top of the line model and giving away my old one to family. A lot of money left on the table I know but it's good to know that my old phone will be going to a good home. Plus no worries after reading the horror stories on here about MM etc!
Am I the only one who has some mixed feelings about new iPhone day ? Yes, it's a new iPhone and all that but the downside (for me at least) is around a day of weekend spent setting it up, e.g.
- Updating iOS on the new phone as required
- The long restore process (couple of hours to transfer from the old phone to the new; and then more hours downloading the 600+ apps on my phone)
- Finding every year that some of the apps I had on my old phone no longer exist in the app store
- Setting up Apple Pay which is a pain if (like me) you registered have more than a half dozen cards installed
- Making sure two factor authentication codes are transferred across
- Logging back in online banking apps which all have different hoops for you to jump through (including call backs etc)
- Logging back in on all my other frequently used apps (where the info doesn't transfer across automatically even from an encrypted backup) - including generating new one time codes for some apps required to log into my Apple account
- Getting the old phone ready to be given away - logging out of certain apps (e.g. Amazon Kindle which has a limit for some books), deleting the old iCloud backup
etc
So I'm both excited and also a bit apprehensive of yet another day of tinkering around to get the new phone to how I like it and the old phone ready (after a quick polish) to be given away!

I would rank in this order best restore methods
Device to device transfer
iCloud restore
Restore from Mac
I always used to do the latter for speed but now everything is offloaded to the cloud now it makes no difference. This was pre iMessage in the cloud. Once that happened it was easier with the other two options.
I have some stuff cause I’ve reached the max of the free 5GB iCloud storage but in terms of back up back ups. I do it all on my macbook

The only part I dislike is setting Up my 2FA app again last time I couldn’t access my work laptop after I deleted the 2FA App from my old phone before setting it up on the new one 🤦🏼♂️
I’m just worried to do iCloud because I’ve never actually used it before to store absolutely everything on my phone… I will move on to this as long as I know I will keep everything from my phone settings to wallpapers, photos, contacts, messages etc

He’s a runner. It’s all he’s interested in, but likes his Apple Watch and his iPhone but can’t be bothered with the technicalities. It just needs to work. He finds the 11 pro Max a bit too big and heavy for his running shorts, but he loves taking good photos, so the pro 14 6.1 should be good for him. He knows about the phone, but not about the date night!
