So Amazon has been a let down this year? What about Currys are they delivering on first day?

THANK YOU!

I was worried about this and the main reason I skipped the IP13. Have you done the grey uniformity test with low brightness and all? Would you be able to provide some photos also?

First image is a dark grey image (attached) at minimum brightness, second is Settings at about 10%. Night Shift turned on because I find it accentuates the issue when present.

The photos make it look more uneven than it really is, probably due to the slight colour shift at different angles (normal for OLED). To the eye, it looks really uniform and lovely! ❤️

This is a 13 Pro Max I tried and promptly returned, for contrast:

I should add that you shouldn’t do this test when your phone is hot! The heat from the logic board will discolour the display area in front of it (not visible during normal use).

Did it just transfer across
Yes - did device to device transfer and it asked me to transfer and I said yes, but then it said 'eSIM transfer more info required. Contact EE after transfer of device' ( i am paraphrasing here) once device transfer was complete, went to mobile data and it transfer plan ( on new phone), confirmed on old device and it took about 15 seconds to activate. All good in the hood for me

I never cared about the always on display, but the 14 Pro has it on by default. It’s not really the black and white moving clock, but the display is REALLY always on, but dimmer. I left it on for now, but I have to see how much it consumes - and besides I don’t know how to program to turn it off overnight as my MagSafe stand keeps the phone facing me. I guess I will have to set up a sleep focus mode and remember to turn it on before I go to bed. So far not convinced, but I decided to give it a go.

Please tell me that notifications (iMessage, WhatsApp or any other sorts) pop out from the Dynamic Island just like the phone call banner and it does not appear below the Island?

Nope. Normal notifications are not part of the 'island'

You do realise you can turn AOD off right ?

You can automate any Focus to come on/off at certain times - no need to remember to turn it on yourself.

Isn't only for apps that support the feature i.e. not all apps will at the moment.

Whaaat!!! NOOO! I hope some sort of support or update comes otherwise that's just pointless. Waste of UI space.
Eh, seems to me it's more a quasi-multitasking interface than notification delivery UI. Personally not bothered
