So abit of a nightmare with my EE esim - the auto transfer failed, I manually tried and also failed, at that point I thought I’d remove the sim from my old phone and try again… big mistake!

I can add the esim to my new phone but to activate it try’s to text which obviously I don’t get now. I called EE, the guy I spoke to laughed when I said I need help with my esim - said he’s been dealing with iPhone esim issues all day, said most successful way has been to not try transfer when setting up and doing it after for some reason.

He’s said he’s activated my esim now but it would only let him activate it in 24 hours so it should in theory start working tomorrow evening.

He did mention about going in store with ID - has anyone done this for an esim I’m wondering if this could speed up the process? Am abit worried if it’s not working tomorrow evening then we are going into Sunday / bank holiday with no service. Appreciate it’s my error for deleting my previous esim but it’s frustrating they are unable to activate it sooner then 24 hours 😌

We’re all changing our phones in 12 months does the battery health even matter?
True but it kinda does in a private sale. Private sale gives you more money than MM or trade in company.

Off topic but i kinda see why everyone buys from Apple. Too much hassle going to other vendors which we dont know if they will deliver and Apple guarantees first day delivery if ordered on time. Private sale makes it even more hectic. Pay the full price at Apple.com and trade to MM and move on to next year. Becomes too much if doing this every 12 months.

EE and this eSim situation is ridiculous, glad it was so much easier with Virgin, remove from old phone, scan code with new phone from my Virgin account, done, no texts to mess around with and only takes 2 mins.

Thanks may do this tomorrow then to be sure - I got a message saying it had failed to activate so I’m not sure if in 24 hours if the activation will work or if it’s stopped trying now.

Finally got around to setting up my new 14 PM Space Black, and because I'd read about the Wi-Fi issue and the 16.0.1 release I connected it to my Mac and installed 16.0.1. As a Developer actively developing an app on iOS 16.1 beta 1 on my old iPhone I installed that, too. Everything's groovy, you cool cats.

Took a backup of the old iPhone. Restored it to the new iPhone. Both are now on iOS 16.1 beta 1. Then...

Ugh.

There are now just five apps installed on the new iPhone (there should be about 150). It doesn't even have the TV or Music apps. It has Settings, Phone, Messages, Calendar and App Store. That's it.

That's definitely not what I backed up, and it's not a good start. I'mma do a new backup of the old iPhone... 🤞

UPDATE: The second backup worked fine.

So I pre-ordered on pre-order day but I was a bit slow so had to go for delivery, due Oct 3rd - 10th.

I checked the site today (on advice of this forum) and it was available for pick up from store tomorrow, so I went for that and cancelled my original.

Hopefully there’s no issue and I can get it tomorrow!

The text verification is where you get stuck if you’ve lost access to the esim on the old device - whilst admittedly it was my fault that I removed it in this case, if I had lost my phone i guess I’d be stuck again - if they want verification they really should offer email or some other alternative IMO.

Is anyone else's iPhone 14 Pro less bright than an older device? Mine's also dimmer and I can't figure out why.

Try turning off auto brightness under the display heading with the accessibility settings. This can limit the maximum brightness.

I think I’m going to do this… not straight forward as it’s out of stock atm though! And really I want to go back to Apple Store to do this so I can have the refund on credit to pay the difference of £100 instead
I too am thinking of changing from the Pro to the Max although the Pro is nice and easy to handle but I miss the real estate of the screen…

I was at the Leeds Apple Store earlier to collect my new Watch S8.
I mentioned to the staff member that my iPhone 14 Pro was not due for delivery until mid October. He said that they should have more stock in the store next week and to call back then.

Is it wishful thinking that’s I can order tomorrow to collect in store that’s day too? I’m in London tomorrow so hoping I can get one? Anyone got any tips of when the site will update with stock etc? Thank!

If it helps I ordered this morning for collection tomorrow and had no issues collecting at 4pm today.

I was in Newcastle though :)

Order was placed around 6:45am

I don’t know what to do tomorrow.

Have a PM 512 in black reserved for pick up tomorrow on iUP.

Due to the debacle on launch day I have a Barclays finance one due 3-10th October.

Do I go to apple tomorrow and try finance again on iUP or just leave it and wait for shipping in a couple of weeks?

Prime to apple support today and they can’t transfer the finance to the pick up. They can only cancel one or the other.

I financed a 2nd device this morning then cancelled my original order.

I was expecting Barclays to flag something but it went through without issue. I don’t think my credit rating is somehow magical so I’d suggest applying tomorrow.
